On Sunday the 24th January 2010, at 10pm….ish, eight drivers fearlessly started the SBR 800K Challenge. The objective was simple, get as many people as possible to break the 100,000 drift points in one lap achievement at once and achieve an 800,000 point Lobby. Contesting this (in order of the Grid in the picture above) was XTI Nightrider, Richy59, Ianmr, XTI Avenger, Slider S15, General TsO, Sam Billing1991 and PLOW The Butcher.



This proved much easier said than done, of our eight drivers only two managed to achieve the goal of 100,000 Drift points or more in one lap of the fearsome Fujimi Kaido Circuit, 10.20 miles of Twisting undulating curves, punishing Concrete walls and NO margin for error.

3rd – PLOW The Butcher – PLOW Motorsport AE86 ’85 – 91,126 Drift Points





4th – XTI Nightrider – XTI RMR Genesis Coupe 2010 – 87,840 Drift Points





5th – Richy59 – M&M Prodrive NISMO R34 GTR ’02 – 82,702 Drift Points





6th – XTI Avenger – Fox Racing Crossfire SRT6 ’06 – 77,707 Drift Points





7th – Ianmr – M&M Racing HKS Subaru Impreza WRX STi ’08 - 67,402 Drift Points




8th – General TsO – Cadillac CTS-V ’09 – 49,154 Drift Points



Sadly we failed to reach our Goal of 800,000 points. However we did reach a very respectable 722,431 Drift Points from one lap of Fujimi Kaido, with a Group Average Lap of 90,303.88 Drift Points, (Which Makes PLOW The Butcher our SBR MR Average, lol)



However perhaps the real victory was the way this captured the imagination of those who took part. With a great variety of machinery and calls for a TORA Drift Championship you can bet this wont be the last we see of the SBR 800K Challenge, Especially with the unfinished business of 800,000 Drift points!



The Challenge will be back one day, Giving the chance for everybody to hone there skills and their machines before the next attempt.



The Men have been defeated by the mountain…. But when we have that much fun… Who cares??
