Saturday Night Short Track Weekly Meet

Just as a bit of non-official fun to keep the Stock Cars going, I have an idea where every Saturday night we have some proper Short Track racing around Benchmark C and Camino Viejo Mini with two different events each night, Grand National, and Modified Stock.

Grand National takes its name from the old Cup Series name as the cars for this class are the Dodge, Ford and Chevy Stock Cars. Modified Stock is for cars with a maximum of 550hp that are Front Engined, Rear Wheel Drive and American built between 1980 and 2000.

Each event will consist of two races and one qualifying session. You get two flying laps in qualifying which sets the grid for the first race, and for the second, the grid is reversed (in true Short Track style). Each race will last for 25-35 laps depending on where we are and if we can be bothered.

At the end of the night, the driver with the most points scored from both of the Grand National races and both of the Modified Stock races will win some sort of cash prize.

This is an unnoficial/orginised fun thing which should help us brush up on short track skills! If you are interested in doing this, please reply!

We wont be running on the night of the SBR event.

So ANY Front Engined RWD car from the USA can be turned into a Modified Stock Car?

I may just use the strandard stock car for the first round due to money issues...

must be production based and built between 1980 and 2000, or I could change it to Stock Camaro's or something.

i feel up for this!! 9pm GMT (4pm EST) would be a great time for me. now to get a nice livery put together for the Ford Stock Car, and i already found a sweet livery for the '93 'Stang (though, wont be able to change the number), so i'll build it to the 550hp spec.


... im thinking a classic Mark Martin Folgers livery for the Stock Car.

I have a few Die-Cast Cup cars from 1998 on my shelf, #6 (Mark Vartin Valvoline Ford), #12 (Jeremy Mayfield Mobil 1 Ford), #97 Kurt Busch John Deere Ford) and #35 (Todd Bodine Tabasco Pontiac)

Martin ran Folgers from '90-'91. i had built a die-cast of one, but i do not remember what happened to it, or where it is. it would be a great tool to help replicate it in FM3, but i cant find it obviously, so im havign a hard time finding a good pic online.
