depend son the banding though. I know a manager whos on upwards of 100k and another in the same business but a different store on considerably less.

Congratulations though...I've got some proposals for you on how to deal with slow customers using the self scan tills.

those self scan things are pointless! They require just as much staff as a normal checkout!

Then you forget to put something in the bag, or you dont want a bag, and the thing freezes up and shouts at you, makes you feel like an idiot after spending 10 minutes pawing hopelessly at the screen..

the worst is when you try to pay in cash. and want to get back cash back for change...i still have to go wait in line

In my store, we have 1 self scan collegue, watching 4 stations...

How would you feel about giving them a whip and a megaphone?

The best solution is a trap door underneath every checkout. If you've not finished scanning and paid up after X minutes, it opens underneath you. Also if you've already scanned 10 items and you reach for another out of your still heaving trolley...down you go too.
