Re: GT3 Meeting 5 Discussion Thread - Suzuka (Full Circuit)
Chillz certainly does. When it comes to the race, he is cautious and careful for the first couple of laps/when making his way through the field, and only opens the taps when he gets out in front.
By comparisson, I tend to see the start/first couple of laps as the best opportunity for making progress, and tend to be much more aggressive in terms of overtaking or looking for openings in those first few laps.

This coming fro the guy who was hit by said team mate?
I tend to be cautious in the opening lap just because some people don't see it as an endurance race and will go for the gaps from the off. Not a problem with that if you can actually make them of course! Myself, general and Crisis went into turn one virtually three abreast, now with experience of that in TCC going horribly wrong (eh ck?) I held off even though there was the space. Better that than ruining three guys races for the sake of a few metres.

All of this kind of behaviour comes with experience. I'm still learning a great deal and I'm in my third full season now.

Exactly Crisis, but that's what makes us different from other racing groups. We're all about treating as if it WERE real. I think most people now have that in their mind when they race with us. They need to be thinking what would happen if I hit x, or what's the result if I have contact with y and collect z as well?
It's all a state of mind maaaaan

Re: GT3 Meeting 5 Discussion Thread - Suzuka (Full Circuit)
ive noticed with a couple 2nd race ive been in, particually at Catalunya and Mugello, i was able to get a much better launch than others and was able to bolt out front/near-the-front before the first corner, and im sure some have seen how hard i try to race clean. right Aero during sundays race, in that double right-hander that one lap? ive never had to go two-wide through there before, and that sure was interesting.

Hehe yeh that was fun! But like you, I'm always at least aware that there is a car beside me, and take the corners accordingly, ok perhaps sometimes being overly courteous, but it makes for an awesome race/replay when you see two guys going side by side round half the lap.
Two abreast through the Degnas was a first for me, but I don't think it was reckless. Sometimes you have to take opportunities where you see them, even if they are a little unconventional!! (See Hamilton @ Australia 2010 round the outside of Rosberg).

Yeah. I saw you grab the dirt exiting the previous corner and saw an opportunity to capitalize on it. Chillz capitalized on my mistake at Mugello.
About the contact issue, I think its just a matter of it being accidental, as most of what I saw sunday in the 2nd race. I know a couple times in the public lobbies, where I felt I was the target, but the people I was racing with were very respectful and allowed me to recover my spot. I even remember my debut race in the GTC last season, where I made light contact with Y22's car, i let off the throttle to let him recover.

When it comes to contact, you have to look at it like intent or accident. If it is something the crasher has done in the past, or every time, then the collision can be deamed intentional. If the crasher simply made a mistake and couldn't recover early enough to avoid contact, accident.
I am not saying accidental contact shouldn't be penalized, just not blowing the guy up on the forum for it. Pretty much anyone I have raced with in an organized racing series drives exceptionally courteous, and if they don't, they usually don't end up finishing the current series or are asked to leave.
That to me is what makes organized racing so much fun. Thanks for everything you guys do here.

Everyones getting faster, as speeds increase, so does the danger and I think so far, we have all done a good job compensating, sure we've had our troubles along the way (me included) but all this extra speed has also added to more exciting and fun racing.

LOL, that will live on in TORA legend, it was round 3 of the 1st series and it saw a Leon, a Sentra and a Civic doing the skittles into a sandpit routine at turn 1 of Suzuka East.
Those were the days...
