Re: Championship Discussion
Nah it wasnt the radical, at 880 the thing gets a little slippy slidey. not much you can do to it at 880 though TBH. race tires brakes, diff (lowered pi i think ) and a race engine up grade (added like 20 hp i think, not much) and medium width tires is all i could do to. Its good against the non super GT cars, which it can outcorner and were, in my testing, kinda slow. Against the other cars (Koenigsegg and moesler in particular,) it was a dead heat, it got taken in the straights but caught up in the corners. this was magnified against the 900hp gumpert

Re: Championship Discussion
TBH none really, i mean certain cars fell behind (i ran my slow times with the gumpert, hard to get turning) my front runners were the CCGT, Radical, GTR and Moesler
The CCGT i had already developed for use in the LMS before the car list was re done
the Radical im kinda scared of TBH, its so light and sensitive while turning but it turned some good laps when i kept it controlled
GTR - again, a car i developed for the LMS really sturdy.
Moesler was just good all around.
*** All tests were done without drivers aids ***
i didnt really keep track of times, but these cars felt the best and from the few times i did notice, they were really close
the zonda has potential but like i said, i cant really afford it

Re: Championship Discussion
Hmmmm.... I need to test some more. I will reserve comment until I test at a variety of tracks, but there are 3 cars I like so far. It would be 4, but I am using the Nissan GTR in the LMS already and would like to run something different for a change, but it is a great car.

Re: Championship Discussion
also, you may get some different results, your driving is obviously far superior to mine to mine so different cars work for me
Re: Championship Discussion
I was going to join this but after looking at the car list, i have decided against it.
To put it simple, the car list is a bit of a joke. I wanted the JGTC and what we pretty much got was a GT1 championship...with cars like the FXX etc...
A shame really, cause the IFCA JGTC has already started this year.

Re: Championship Discussion
I was also hoping for the JGTC cars. I am racing if Louis puts in a team entry, but I am a little disapointed that the car list doesn't better reflect what is or was ran in Japan.

Re: Championship Discussion
Yeah I thought the whole concept was going to be Super GT cars like the actual series. We have a good number of those cars in the game, both the GT500 and GT300 classes.

Thats 'cause its suppose to be.
The expansions championships were designed to be shorter (in terms of meeting length and season length) more bite sized series, and are intended to be taken a little less seriously.
Hence; the original wacky idea for SGT, cosmetic damage roll fest abaths, and drifting....
Super GT was originally going to be run on Sundays in the second half of the year, when coming up with the 2010 portfolio back in september. However when we got to testing, we decided it was boring and launched GT4 instead.
With the expansion championships we decided to give it another go, with the multi spec same class but have to take lots of pitstops idea, which worked on paper, but did not work in practice. However the 'GT900' idea did, as those who took part in the pre-reg launch tests will attest.
If people are really going to be completely unimaginative then we will re name the championship 'GT Prototype'. The great thing about virtual motorsport is that we can use a bit of artistic licence to increase the fun factor.
n.b 40% of the car list are ''Super GT'' cars, and 50% of the calendar is in Japan.

Re: Championship Discussion
Super GT is a fine name for the series as it is a field of Super cars that run in GT races
Re: Championship Discussion
When most people think "super GT" or "JGTC" they think of the gt500 class with hondas, nissans, ect. With huge body kits. They often neglect the GT300 class which is often composed mostly of Exotics. Theres a lambo, snd other cars with super low production numbers including a LMP looking thing.
Re: Championship Discussion
It is taking a series name and then changing its purpose.
I thought HyperGT would've been better. Or just GT1/GT-X?

Re: Championship Discussion
As I interpretted SuperGT being the championship running in Japan, I assumed that was what SuperGT was going to be. I have no problem if this series isn't meant to replicate that series, I was just feeling misled as I have no actual desire to run these cars. Once again, just an opinion of mine. Thanks.

Re: Championship Discussion
Wow. The car list looks great. Almost all the cars are great fun to drive, and I for one am really looking forward to this championship. The 2nd half of the year looks great. Cannot wait. Good work guys.

Re: Championship Discussion
the only car really making me want to run this thing is the Mazda Furai, I absolutely love this car, but i will admit i was thinking of the real SUPER GT when i saw the name and for that reason i'm rather hesitant on wanting to join this one.

Re: Championship Discussion
The original idea was Japanese SuperGT, but when they discovered their original plan wouldnt work they went for something different.

No, I just had a prejudice of what it was going to be, it ended up being something different, and I am not interested in driving the different. That is all. I was super excited for a JGTC/SuperGT series over here at TORA since I am competing in one somewhere else, that is all.

+1
I was really excited for this and was planning on competing, im not in many championships...due to time and also interest. Looks like i'll just stick to the GT3, LMS & TCC.
Gashi, when does the JGTC series that you run in end? I was supposed to sign up this year but i was a little late...i do plan on joining next season though with the VVV guys.

Re: Championship Discussion
It is currently on race 3 and there are 8 races. Usually a month or so of off time before the next season starts.
