GT5

Picked up a PS3 yesterday and got this game.

It is the s**t! and this is only the demo, the full vert will blow Forza away!

Anyone else got it and fancy some online racing?

I have it, and I thought it was crap. I played it for an afternoon and that as enough. The PS3 controller just doesn't work for racing games after using the 360 controller.

we dont talk about the Gran Turismo 5-S***logue .....it sucks....

i got it and i gota say i really like gt5 pl. the car handling is amazing and the graphics are mint.

cant wait for the full game next year!

Have to say.... it would be the ONLY reason for me to have a PS3. there just aren't enough exclusive GOOD gams for it. I mean they've even lost the F1 gig to Codies who will produce F1 for the masses which is how it should be too!!
The graphics ARE stunning but yeah I would rather wait for th full experience rather than be left wanting more. I had all the GT's plus the bloody Geneva show one. What a waste of dosh that was!!

Polyphony Digital has an amazing pedigree and have set the bar for sim console racing games since the PS0.

Turn 10 has got 2 games under their belt and are now going for their first game with everything in place.

Polyphony has stated that GT5 will be their 'definitive' game.

I am looking forward to both and you can clearly feel the cultural differences between the two studios development goals.

Silencer / Jammy, you havn't played GT5 so it's not really up to you to decide.

Besides, GT5 has not been released yet, FM2 has been out a year and a half, it is really past the point of comparrisons.

GT5 Graphics completley destroy Forza.

theres a GT:PL damage patch out soon i heard, should make GT a better game with it..... but for online racing games, FM2 & Toca 3 rule.

GT is billed as the driving simulator.

Forza is billed as the online racer.

I have never heard it get called the online racer. But still, i looooooved GT2 on the PS1. That was one of the greatest games ever! But since then I have never quite felt like the other games have been the same. I think its got more to do with the PS3 controller than anythin. Last time I played it I was using the SIXAXIS...which is crap. I now have a dualshock 3 so I need to try it again. And there are now trigger extenders that makes it more like the 360 controller, i think i will be investing the whole £3 and getting them lol.

I think everyone will buy that game including me.

I used to like GT until the 4th one (which IMO wasnt as great as #3). I will get it more out of interest though, as for me it is an arcade game when you compare it to Forza.

Christmas 09 is a long time to wait after the prologue.

I was a dedicated GT fan and the only time ill buy a ps3 is when this game comes out

I just hope Forza 3 will be on a comparable basis to gt5 knowing that they are going to have to compete with it

prologue will be the same as GT5 by Q4 09 (or whenever its released!)

they keep updating it every few months.

In sep they uped the frame rate and physics speed.

In Q1 they are adding damage and whether!

Interesting...... still it would be the ONLY game I would own a PS3 for.
I think in terms of invested time I've always had more fun with Forza. The Paint section is essentially a game in itself realy the hours one can while away there. GT5 (I believe) doesn't have this option.
I will be interesting to see what sort of quality damage it has. I think Race Pro is going to lead the way there.
