A Bizarre staffer has put together a final salute to UK developer Bizarre Creations, which Activision will close today. Words are pointless. The very best of luck to everyone involved.

Farewell Bizarre…it’s been an absolute pleasure! from Eamon Urtone on Vimeo.

without PGR, I wouldn't be on TORA today. Of that I'm sure. A sad farewell

Geometry Wars 2 was by far their best game.

This is a damn shame, not only for the Project Gothams, but also Metropolis Street Racer (Essientially the first Gotham), on the dreamcast, and also the first two Playstation Formula 1 games.

Games I will never forget.

That's garbage, Activision. Severely bad news.

I doff my hat to Bizarre Creations and echo what Adrian has said. From Formula One '96 (which I still play to this day on my PSP as one of my favourite ever racing games), MSR and the PGR series, they've been part of my love affair with cars and motorsport.

Best of luck to all of them.

Without ''Formula One'', I may not be as interested in motorsport as I am today. I got it 13 years ago, and started watching F1 after it. Newman/Hass Racing was another favourite of mines.

Yup. It's always sad to see, and I was hit with it when I got made redundant from NCsoft, but if I look at this objectively with the sort of insider experience I have (i.e. knowing the mindset) I can see why Activision have cut Bizarre and Red Octane (the Guitar Hero developers).

The rhythm game phenomenon has passed, and it'd be crazy to pour more money down that drain. No-one needs another set of guitars/drums/microphones...
and sad but true fact - Bizarre have had a few turkeys or at best luke-warm hits recently; The Club, Blur, Blood Stone...you have to cut your losses at some stage.

Not been a fan of any of the latest stuff, the first PGR was great...PGR2 wasn't bad and then it just went pear shaped. All the old games though were great fun, will be missed.
