GTC Meeting 4 Discussion Thread – Nurburgring (Grand Prix Circuit)

Sunday 20/02/11 is Meeting 4, Round 4 at Nurburgring starting at 20:00GMT



Race Format

Qualifying

-Qualifying will be set over 10 minutes total time, After ten minutes have passed you may finish the lap you are on before meeting in the first corner for scrutineering and time collection by the lobby host.
-Times will be taken down and confirmed by the lobby host.
-These will be uploaded to the live timing application.

Race 1 (Round 4)

Laps TBA (Approx 60 mins)

-The grid will be ordered as per qualifying times.
-The grid will form up in race order on the parade lap, this will be instructed by the lobby captain and then the race will start by a rolling start, cars will stay at 60mph on the parade lap and line up side by side, once you pass the pit entrance the pole sitter can shout go, once go is issued there can be no overtaking until the start and finish line.
-You must make 1 mandatory pit stop between lap 2 and the penultimate lap of the race. You may not make your mandatory stop on the first or last lap of the race. The lobby captain must be informed by each driver when they are taking their pit-stop, and failure to pit will result in disqualification.
-The race is scored using the standard TORA points system.
-As GT racing is a non contact sport incidents which endanger you or another competitor will be referred to the head steward and appropriate action will be taken.

In the race we had 3 lobbies with some close battles and some not so close battles the following got on the top spot in each lobby

PLOW MAGICturbo and PLOW The Bucther have the power handicap back for being the top two drivers last time out do they have a chance of winning round the ring? Will EZT PDILLY77 pull off another great race and jump some of the A lobby races to the finish line? Coming up after this race is the season final and right now only 1 point between the top 2 drivers it looks like this is going down to the wire. Get in on the action and enjoy the race this sunday

My best so far is 1:54.5 (with full power), probably lose about a second with the 5% penalty though.

The track does lend itself to some close racing. What happened in a lobby for us all to leapfrog Dan?

bit of a coming together in the first hairpin allowed biggs and i to pull away.

magic turbo passed me with 3 laps to go, but decided that he didnt want the power penalty for road america...so he let me by to take 2nd.
