Post by Matt Mon 21 Feb 2011 - 18:03

F1_2010-Title

In 2011, TORA has chosen to take on the pinnacle of motorsport, grand prix racing. While single seater racing is a new discipline to the Association, there are many supporters of Formula One amongst its members.
The Championship will run to the same calendar as the real series and will take place on the F1 2010 game by Codemasters for Xbox 360.
Each race meeting will consist of Qualification and Race sessions and are fully compliant with the TORA Sporting Regulations.
Participants will compete for points which will culminate in the crowning of a Drivers Champion and Team Champion at the conclusion of the Championship.

Entry for the 2011 TORA Grand Prix World Championship (GPWC) requires all participants to have Codemasters F1 2010 for XBox 360 and an XBox Live account.

The Championship will be based on INDIVIDUAL performances in equal machinery rather than a range of manufacturers as is the case in TORA's other series.

Three Championships are to be contested by participants in the TORA GPWC;

GPWC Drivers Championship
This will be contested by each individual competitor in the series based on their points accrued throughout the course of the series.

GPWC Teams Championship
Teams of TWO are allowed to enter the GPWC. Both drivers will score points towards the Teams Championship throughout the course of the series.
Individual 'independant' entrants are also entitled to enter the series and will score points in the Independant Teams Championship

Due to the nature of the online aspects of the game, the cars will all be set to equal performance. This means that the TORA GPWC is in essence a spec series with cars of equal performance. This places the emphasis on driver skill. We would therefore advise against utilising specific manufacturer brands in their team names, as it is highly likely that the car used by any given driver may change from race to race.

To enter the GPWC please submit the following template;

Can I just ask? Where it says team name on privateer entry forms, does that mean YOUR team name or the F1 team name?

YOUR team name as I can't promise you'll be able to use the same car each race. Think of it like A1 GP, only cheaper and actually still operating Razz

Races will be at 8pm unless otherwise stated. There are only two fly-away races that pose a potential time shift for this. Canada and Brazil. I will be keeping an eye on the Bahrain news just in case they decide to add it in during the August break.

Sorry Matt, with multiple lobbies dynamic weather won't work as one lobby could have a dry race with another having rain.

Magic made a good point. Perhaps you could adjust the weather to how the actual race went. IE: Dry race in Australia = Dry race in F1 2010 Australia. Wet race in Monaco = Wet race in F1 2010 Monaco.

Yeah I like Stonewall's idea. Or maybe a random Generator? Do it just before the race so no one know what it would be, therefore still giving a slight element of surprise.

Hey just a thought something that everyones been bringing up....

The weather needs to be on clear as what if one of the lobbies races rains and the others doesn't. Times will differ hugely!! And why not just have abs on after all it's the same for everyone anyway! Just brings the pace out a tad more .

In addition to the above post only a three point difference between first and second through multi lobbies is very minute! We should be rewarding race wins! Normally the points system states 25 18 etc etc that gap seems a bot more competitive then you'll find no ones going for the race victory !!

We're anticipating the 2011 game out in October, Codies are only releasing the first info on the new game around the 27th March.

As for weather, I'm easy on wether we go for 2010 race weather in ALL lobbies or clear for all.
Whats the general thoughts?
