Um...what?
On another note, can someone explain the difference between the cars with regular numbers on them, the cars with 0's in front of their number, and the cars with 00's in front of their number?

I just happened to look at the ESPN app on my Xbox today and it now has 'American Le Mans Series' listed as an upcoming event.
It's almost here!

I believe 0's indicate cars which are going to be regulars in the ALMS. You will notice there is for example the #1 Audi, first overall last year and #01 which is Highcroft, 1st in ALMS.
Unsure what the situation is with 00's outside of Aston Martin's traditional use of it.

My excitement is building rapidly for this. The opening round of a proper World Championship... The calendar reads like something from years gone by, Sebring, Spa, Le Mans, Imola, Silverstone, Road Atlanta... Finally, a WORLD Sportscar championship!
Formula One has lost all meaning, this carries on the traditions of the WSC properly, its all about the racing, the same formula is there as it was back in the day. Love it.

And even better this one isnt being run by the FIA, aint that awesome too!!!?
Unless you discount the giant bias towards Peugeot.

Totally Agree Nicky, although to get true world championship status needs FIA aproval, and look what they did to group c (bernie).
So good its out of FIA controls, cant wait maybe a last minute descion for le mans this year but hope to go , Also Part 1 of Radio Lemans preview of the new sports car season should be avliable now.
Watch here come Rebellion!!!

Re: Mobil 1 Twelve Hours Of Sebring Presented By Fresh From Florida
I have to disagree, I think the LMS is boring. Good to watch in person but on TV it's awful. I want to see excitement and when all the cars are on different laps there is no 'Racing' going on just a bunch of cars hotlapping. It's nothing compared to the BTCC, WTCC, F1....but mainly the best racing possible is on 2 wheels.
I sometimes watch the first couple of hours when it's close but as soon as the field is stupidly spread out, I would rather sit and watch paint dry.
I have the same opinion of drifting, pretty boring to watch on TV but in person it's awesome. I'll stick to 2 wheels!

F1.
The car's are close not laps apart. But If I had to choose any motorsport it would be the WSBK. At least in F1 you don't go into every race knowing a Peugeot is going to win. Yes Red Bull are quick but they don't win everything.

to make f1 good, you have to add water.
and red bull didnt win everything...because they kept shooting themselves in the foot. if they had been able to be consistent, F1 would have been over halfway through the season last year.

ALMS is great because of the GT field not the LMPs. Between Risi, RLR, Lizards, Corvette, and ESM you never know who is going to win. Plus you have the added excitement of guessing how many laps it will take the Jaguar's engine to explode. And this year we can add the Panoz and probably the Lambo to the list of cars that won't make it more than a few laps.

Re: Mobil 1 Twelve Hours Of Sebring Presented By Fresh From Florida
Which I agree with, but I would rather see all cars on the same lap at least fighting for position instead of cars all over the place and you having to rely on live timing to work out who is where.
Plus, yes the GT's provide some good racing but last time I watched they were hardly shown, it's all the hype over the prototypes which helps turn me away and tbh most of the British population away. The only endurance race you will tend to hear spoken here is at La Sarthe.

Re: Mobil 1 Twelve Hours Of Sebring Presented By Fresh From Florida
I don't know about the LMS in Europe, the the GT class in the ALMS makes up something like over half the grid and they get a lot more screen time than the 3 LMP entries or either of the Challenge classes.

I didn't know the result, I just assumed because all I ever hear is Peugeot this Peugeot that and Audi this and Audi that. You ask nearly any motorsport fan about the LMS and they will all say something about Peugeot or Audi. Take the boring ass prototypes out and I would gladly watch it.
The GT drivers don't get any recognition.

Re: Mobil 1 Twelve Hours Of Sebring Presented By Fresh From Florida
Picks for who's going to win?
LMP1: Highcroft
LMP2: Signatech Nissan
LMPC: 006 Core Autosport
GTE: 04 Corvette
GTE-Am: Krohn 430GT
GTC: Black Swan Racing
Did the West Racing Gallardo even qualify? I didn't see it on tv and I don't think it was mentioned and it isn't on the timing screens. Nice the see the Panoz and the Jags at least have it in them to run enough laps to set a time.
