Wheres the spare pound gone?
My dad posted this on facebook, and my head exploded.
"3 guys went into a shop bought 3 shirts for £30. They paid a £10 each and said bye. 2 mins later the shop's boss came in and said "theres a £25 for 3 promotion" Go and give £5 back" So the shop assistant grabbed five £1 coins from the till and ran after the 3 guys, but £5 divided by 3 is tricky, so he kept £2 for himself and will just give them a £1 each, So he caught them up and gave them a £1 back each, so they now only paid £9 each for a shirt. £9 x 3 geezers = £27, £2 in the assistants pocket, = £29. So where's the missing £1 ?"

Re: Wheres the spare pound gone?
$30.00 was originally given
Correct price of the shirts = $25
Each man receives $1 dollar refund = $3
The other guy keeps $2
$25 for shirts + $2 tip for the owner = $27
$30 - $27 = $3 which is how much the men receive back as a refund

Re: Wheres the spare pound gone?
couldnt he just give them 66p each? too lazy to count pennies, useless sales assistant.
More suprisingly is the lack of presentation this shop has, not putting the offer signs out? Poor Managment.
Even wierder, why are there three complete strangers buying one shirt each at exactly the same time.....hmmm, lot of wierdos about these days.
So yeah, Maths, Evil if you cant use fractions.

Re: Wheres the spare pound gone?
No missing pound - £25 in till, 2 in pocket of dude and 1 back each to guys.
You go into a room with two doors - each room is guarded by a guard, one always lies one always tells the truth. One door leads to safety and one to death. You can ask one of the guards only 1 question, what do you ask to lead you to safety?

ask each guard what the other guard would say if asked which door is safe.
this explains it.
"If I had asked the other guard which door was the correct door, which door would he have pointed to?" If you're talking to the guard that tells the truth, he will (truthfully) indicate the door that the other guard would have steered you towards — which would be the wrong door, as the other guard always lies. But if you're talking to the guard that always lies, then he would still point to the wrong door, as while the other guard (the truth-teller) would have indicated the correct door, the guard you're speaking to is lying to you about what he would have said! So either way, the answer to your question will be the wrong door — and so, either way, you simply use the other door.

Re: Wheres the spare pound gone?
Acting on an anonymous phone call, the police raid a house to arrest a suspected murderer. They don't know what he looks like but they know his name is John and that he is inside the house. The police bust in on a carpenter, a lorry driver, a mechanic and a fireman all playing poker. Without hesitation or communication of any kind, they immediately arrest the fireman. How do they know they've got their man?

Re: Wheres the spare pound gone?
Because the police were already tracking an illegal gambling ring fronted by the fireman, his name is John Kosowacsincki and he is a VERY BAD MAN.
