Scotland does have its own warehouses and stocks you know, its not in the middle of Siberia, we don't rely on goods from South East England!
In fact, I think there are a lot of warehouses that stock games close by Glasgow, which shouldn't surprise you as Glasgow happens to be the third largest metro area in the entire UK, and the largest in Scotland by a long long way!
Yes, i'm being that guy, sorry Jonny

Re: F1 2011
Well, my first impession is that this game is a lot harder and more realistic than 2010. I got it for the PC until I get my Fanatec on the Xbox, and using the G27. I jumped straight into a race and had to completely re-adjust and basically set up my wheel once again. By default, the steering was completely useless in the centre with its huge deadzone and then it was full lock left and right. Now that I have got it set up right it feels really good. I can't quite seem to find a balance in the breaks though.
I've only done Oz so far, but I chose Williams as my first teams (yeah, they have been relegated to a started team now) and maybe I have it set a bit too easy but I gained 4th in my first race. Usually I would have said I did have it too easy, but I think it was more the fact that the AI refused to pass me during the race and I had a decent sized train behind me. Along the start finish straight they were flying right up to my wing then side by side with me and then all of a sudden they just kept my pace and then fell back behind me coming up to the corner. Button wasn't all that far in front of me at the end though, all the while the Red Bulls managed to lap some of the cars at the back within 12 laps (same as real life then)
The safety cars aren't great in my opinion. When behind them the car auto brakes to keep you at a safe distance from teh ar in front, which seems to be 2-3 car lengths when the car behind is rigth under my wing. On restarts the cars don't accelerate away until on the pit straight, so the auto brake prevents you from gaining any advantage over the other cars whilst the cars behind me all line up to overtake me within inches of the start finish line. Might just have to get used ot it, but its annoying.
I may have to adjust the AI a bit, but so far I like it. A more solid racer than 2010 with the usual dodgy AI. At least they got some real life aspect pretty accurate, like Hamilton trying to overtake me whilst being inches from a wall and traveling over grass and then continually hitting me and ruining his front wing

Re: F1 2011
Up to Turkey now so here's some thoughts...
Looks:
The Menus are much better than 2010, the feel is still the same, you're in your motorhome but the location is much better matched to the actual venue in your calendar.
The cars look alot better, less mirror surfaced and more vibrant than before. The environments too look way better and less cold than in 2010. The extra graphics for DRS and KERS are well matched to the real TV displays and do not intrude on the screen and are noticeable enough to ensure you DEFINITELY know when you're using your DRS
The KERS is automatically configured to LB which is.... ok but not as easy to tap at as DRS so more often as not I'm using DRS in FP and Q rather than KERS purely out of comfort at the moment. Until I can think of a better layout it'll stay as standard, though when the wheel gets used I can see there being no issue at all.
Gameplay: The penalties are slightly less annoying than in 2010 and atad more forgiving of minor track excursions though I need to explore this further. The career mode is as before but if it aint broke why fix it?
Still enjoying the little extra challenges in FP to get developments on the car, gives you an incentive to actually work through Practice too. Always good!
The cars are more challenging to drive but also more compliant over bumps and kerbs. You do get a more gradual slide and you can, if VERY lucky, catch it. Otherwise it's yet another slide onto the grass! Grr!
There is a significant difference between prime and Option, moreso than with the Bridgestones, this has been very well applied by Codies. here.
More to come when I get a little further into the game.
Impresions are very good, frustrating but hey, we like a challenge!

Re: F1 2011
My first impressions, is that this game is amazing! They have implimented DRS and KERS so well! Took a bit of getting used to, especially the brakes. But I have set the AI to easy and so far at lat 41/58, I am 2 minutes ahead of position 2! One thing I love is the thing where it shows you when to pit, how many laps extra or less of fuel you got! Its amazing! And the graphics!! OH DAYMN!!!!

Re: F1 2011
Well I have now done 3 races and I am so addicted to this game right now! It so amazingly made! Codemasters have done an epic job! KERS works amazingly! DRS amazingly! The graphics are amazing! Sounds are great! Tyres are well interpretted! Pits are great! Car handles amazingly! I think they have taken tips from Ken Block, cos when your tyres are damaged or cold, then you are gonna have to start learning to drift!! But I would rate the game 9.9/10! Has the tiniest of flaws that is not even noticable and I just love it! I especially love the menu which tells you how many extra or less fuel you got so you can push or save fuel, and the 3D racing line is the best thing you can have in a game! One thing that was a bit scary was the brakes. In F1 2010, you could brake late with even with ABS off, well forget all you was taught about that in 2010, because 2011 is not so generous but once you get used to it, its fine!

Re: F1 2011
I'm loving it so far, can actually attack the curbs without spinning, have managed some great starts with the help of kers 18-9th in Australia, and 11-1 in Malaysia, driving for force India, with ai on professional
Re: F1 2011
Loads of bugs already - holding out Judgement until one or two patches are applied. Doesn't work with Fanatec either so no rush Matt.
Spot any bugs report them here: http://community.codemasters.com/forum/f1-2011-tech-game-support-1420/471212-game-issues-reporting-thread.html

Re: F1 2011
I haven't really seen any bugs in the PC version apart from some drivers not loading so it looks like the cars are driving around themselves. Oh, and the game is crashing every 3 out of 5 loading screens or something, apparently it's due to DX11.

Re: F1 2011
really? Wanna go quicker. All I did to set this time was put both front and rear suspension to 11. This time was done without assists in Cockpit too! I'm sure messing around with other set up settings I could easily go low 16's maybe high 15's but no point if it's flawed. Hoping for a fix soon.

Re: F1 2011
lol 22 seconds, beat that magic!
For the avergare punter who doesn't dream of attacking the leaderboards it's been pretty fun for me so far.
I still believe, like the last game, that the AI gets an auto boost so no matter how low your downforce is, DRS open, KERS on and high gear rations they will always catch you on long straights.

Re: F1 2011
no hacking involved!! it's a flawed game atm, that's all. Nothing a patch won't fix and then a wipe of the leader boards. It's a good thing these issues and bugs are being found and exploited. Then they can be fixed.
No so good they weren't caught in the first place though!!

Re: F1 2011
No hacking!? So how the hell can anyone do Melbourne in 22 seconds? But very true, simple tiny patch, clear the board and its done! And yeah, its good they are being exploited because they will pick up on it and sort it! I trust codies! Every game has something like this and it always gets fixed, but then there are some people who hack it and just ruin it. Thats whats annoying.
EDIT: Just seen on the forum that a patch is on the way. Heck, PS3 owners got it the first day!

Re: F1 2011
Its like the last game. Do a qually session, and somehow when someone crosses the line their time was about 20-30 seconds quicker than what it actually was. Problems with the games time keeping. Looks like this games worse. 22 Seconds!?
