Re: New MS Wheel
Oh my lord.
I can see what they have tried to do, blur the line between wheel and pad.
But god!

Re: New MS Wheel
I actually kinda like it as a sort of odd pad thing, looks very well designed, its obviously trying to get the more casual racing gamer who doesn't want the full wheel, but wants something better than the pad.
I like the idea.
I just don't want one.

Re: New MS Wheel
I could actually see that improving my lap times a lot. The reason I use a controller instead of my wheel is because I can't left foot brake and find it easier to control the gas/brake with the triggers. With a wheel though my lines are a lot smoother, so a wheel that has triggers for gas/brake actually seems like a good idea to me lol.

Re: New MS Wheel
Me too Simon, looks like a great alternative for those that can't afford, use or have the space for a 'proper' wheel! Very interested to hear more about this - I'm guessing it must use some kind of gryo/accelerometers, like PS3 SIXAXIS. Might not be 100% accurate, but surely gotta give a bigger range of motion than the little joystick on a controller. Hopefully they'll charge around £45, be well worth it!

Re: New MS Wheel
Looks ideal for bike games too.
Well done MS, you've made something pretty darn useful.

Re: New MS Wheel
They should release some sort of desk attachment to it or something too, that would make it a pretty neat thing to have.

Re: New MS Wheel
Well, if someone had one of these, because they had no space for a wheel or couldn't justify buying a wheel, and they wanted to give the thing a little more ''wheel feel'' to it, a desk attachment would be perfect for them.

Re: New MS Wheel
.....or just get the Fanatec. I KNEW I had read right into what DG said about working with them.
Re: New MS Wheel
The Fanatec will no doubt cost in the price region of the T500RS.
And I bet pedals will have to be bought separately.

Re: New MS Wheel
This wheel won't have force feedback it will be some kind of simulated FFB. Basically means it will be awful. If it does have FFB it would be something worth looking into but from what I read on FM.net it isnt.
A wheel without FFB is awful and has no feeling. Better off with a controller

Re: New MS Wheel
Thats the whole point.
Its not a full wheel, so to speak, its a pad, designed for racing games. Or at least thats how I see it.

Re: New MS Wheel
this looks interesting. i dont have the space or funds for a proper wheel setup, and this 'wheel-pad' (or Peel, as im gunna call it) might help me get better steering input, as i positive im prolly scrubbing speed around corners with the lousy controller stick.
