Power Handicaps for LeMans ONLY!!!!

The following handicaps are placed on the following cars for the LeMans race ONLY and will revert back to the regular handicap scale for the American Season. Also, any and all success balast that drivers may have from previous European rounds has been cleared, we start a new success balast scale for LeMans (exactly like we did when the European Season started) that will carry over to the American Season. Everyone has a clean slate.

5%- Lola B09/86- Mazda

0%- Panoz LMP1
0%- Porsche RS Spyder

GT2
0%- BMW M3 E92
0%- Dodge Viper Competition Coupe
0%- Doran Ford GT
0%- Jaguar XKR RSR
0%- Porsche 911 GT3 RSR
5%- Ferrari 430 GT
10%- Nissan 350 Z
15%- Audi R8 LMS
15%- Cadillac CTS-V
15%- Chevrolet Corvette Z06
15%- Lotus Evora Type 124
15%- Panoz Esperante GTLM

The previous does not require you to change the build of your car what so ever. While yes some cars look like they are out of place in their particular Groups they do in fact belong there due to their outright speed. all cars are within 2 1/2 seconds of one another (in class) in terms of lap times the rest is down to you guys with tuning and your unique driving styles. ouch. 15% for my Audi. now to see how much my times slow down. was in the 3:55's in testing... now need to re-test.

qualy starts in 2 weeks should be able to get plenty of speed out of your cars, hence why i wanted this out ASAP after Mont Serrat, 2 days after= not to bad lol

Would these also apply for the Le Mans 24 if we ever get around to that?

WHAT? 5% for the Lola Aston? I may need to go back to the drawing board because we won't be as competitive with that much of a handicap.

Dan I'm in the mazda and we still easily have the straight line speed over everyone we just don't have as much as we did before (by about 5 mph) but i still think we'll be very competitive in the Lola's

So the Lola Mazda is faster in a straight line than the other P2s?

Doubtful - I bet the Porsche is the fastest P2 on the straight. The Lola in P1 spec though is an absolute rocket ship.

Do we know when the Le Mans 24 Hour challenge will happen yet?

Oh, ok, I didn't realize he was talking about P1 and not P2.

The lola's still pretty quick, gotta try get a decent low downforce set up for it first!

Yeah, I suppose you're right! Its my fault. I've been away for too long and have forgotten how everything works. lol

I suppose it would give us both an advantage; losing 5% would seemingly help with the drive-ability of our cars. Its just a case of working a compromise between speed and handling. If I was to run with the original set-up on my Lola Aston, I would lose probably about 6 to 8mph. So its gonna be quite a challenge and one (like yourself no doubt Louis) I shall relish.

The Acura P1 ARX o1a, is that with the restrictor off or on?

I'm sure one of the staff will clarify this mate, but I do think it's with the restrictors off because of the Acura's lack of top speed.

So just making sure, with the LMP1 Acura it is the same as the regular rules. Restrictor off with no 5% power handicap? Just making sure so I can start tuning.

The regular rules you have to have a 5% power handy cap as a base, for this race that power handy cap is out the window.

Do these handicaps also apply for the 24 hour race?

can somebody please explain to me why we are having handicaps on some cars?

I know some cars are faster than others on the straights but thats just the cars and there should be no reason to reign them in to compensate for slower cars.

Like my Audi, its a great car in a straight line but a bitch in the corners, if other cars cant keep up on the straight bit of the track then.....well.......tough.....should of picked a different car, surely. not shove a load of bricks in my boot to slow me down.

Does this handicap thing happen in the real world Le mans Race?

Em, in short yes they do.

They start to balance the cars as early as Sebring and at the pre Le Mans test.

I'm sure that someone with more knowledge will explain it more fully
