Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
With the Fanatec's rumored to be around and in excess of 700 usd!! I am tempted to go the madcatz ffb wireless route. Should be around 230 usd which is a lot easier to swallow for a hobby.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
Nah Fanatec all the way $700 is for the Elite so I'd anticipate the cheaper version to be in the same range as the GT2.
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
its a difficult decision - justifying that amount of money on a steering wheel vs a lesser amount but the very real possibility I'd end up spending more replacing cheaper unit in the long run!! Plus, I could put some serious money away for my gaming PC fund to go iracing one day, but then I'd defo want the Fanatec too!!! arggg.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
Are they any wheels for Forza 4 which I can use on PC?
As Matt said above I cna not justify paying £500 for a fantec wheel when I cant use it on my PC rig the wife would kill me lol

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
To be fair, the Madcatz wheel is not pretty, but they have a good reputation for making solid peripherals (the Rock Band ones were awesome). At least it's likely to hold up better than the original M$ wheel.
I couldn't justify paying for a Fanatec wheel without having a proper seat setup, and that's just adding to the cost.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
Dunc the Fanatec will most likely (if the same as the GT2) be compatible with 360/PS3/PC
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
Isn't it kind of crazy to buy a wheel that costs like 3 or 4 times as much as the xbox you are plugging it into?

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
The Madcatz one should work if its wired.
I will never have that Fanatec wheel, not in a million years, unless I won it.
Madcatz one looks ok. The pedals look interesting, and it has the shifter, but.. Madcatz wheels are generally pieces of garbage.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
What do you mount your wheels on when you use them? I've got the M$ wheel but I suck with it because while I can get the wheel more or less stable on the desk my monitor is on, the pedals never stay put, even on carpet.

I tried doing something like that, but felt too unnatural to me. In my real car, I've got the seat back as far as it will go which makes the wheel be about halfway between the seat and the pedals. I couldn't get used to the pedals being that close.

Nice to see they used the BBC's camera positions in the replay.
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
How would a race on that track even work? What stops you from crashing into people at the crossover?

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
I would imagine it's for hotlapping primarily, maybe some of those trackday modes. Or a race would simply require you to be very alert.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
There is also two steering controls now. A regular and an expert, expert gives more feel than the other. Who knows what they are using in these videos. If they screw up the handling physics and make this like SHIFT I will pitch the worlds biggest fit. It will rival anything Cartman has ever done on South Park. That game is awful
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
Turn 10 know how to make a believable handling model. They will do the right thing.

Not sure making it that bad could be possible, even if they were trying!!
