It looks clinical because that how the driver was driving. Sorry it doesn't look more "ridge racer"y like Shift 2

You pair talk so much crap sometimes.
Shift 2 doesn't look anything like Ridge Racer at all. Plus it's infinately more enjoyable than Forza in my opinion.
How you can criticise NFS and then go and say how much you're looking forward to the new Driver game is beyond me.

lol yeah the new Driver game does look pretty terrible, which is a shame since I have always loved the Driver series...even Driv3r...
Either way it's all peoples opinions and everybody has a different one.

No it dosent look like Ridge racer I was plusing the look of the car and how it dosent drift into every corner like you get on shift 2, I still think the biggest beef with Shift 2 was the fact we were sold a rival to GT5 and Forza, visuals and sound stuning you try and actualy drive the cars and it feels like the car has been taken off a race track and put on ice rink made out of frozen cheese.
LOL becuase I hope they have made better than the piss poor effort of driver 3 if not I will agree with you but you forgot EA screwed you all over with Shift 2 and the lack of post realase support

I loved Driv3r! I'll have a scout around later on ebay and see if I can purchase the original xbox version of the game!

The Audi was already in Forza 3. Hopefully the SLS and McLaren GT3s will be included too. I also wouldn't mind if they had a Gallardo GT3 in the game, but I think I would rather have a GT2 spec Lambo to go along with a C6R GT2 and a 458 GT2.

To be fair, the R8 LMS was the Show Car (hense the full name in the dealer: R8 LMS Show Car), not the real GTx car.

I would have thought we will see the 12-C GT3 and the 458 GT2 in there at least.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
I refer to NFS as ridge racer, because in the GT1 cars (and the others) your basically drifting round the corners. Ok its an exaggeration as at least you slow down for the corners, but your sideways through every corner pretty much. The handling is poor and unrealistic.
Another thing, what I said in no way is crap, and what your saying is utter crap. Thing is, its personal opinion and we're all entitled to one!

Probably better if the Pirelli model works as well as they make it sound.nickyf1 wrote:Forza's handling isn't so realistic either.

I knew you'd be the first to say this.
Fact is, HOW DO YOU KNOW? When was the last time you navigated an Aston Martin DBR9 in real life using a joypad, and then tested out the same car in exactly the same conditions on a computer game. Fact is, with an infinite amount of variables in real life racing like environment, weather etc, it'll be decades before a true to life simulation game is on the market. Majority of the world (or at least everyone I've ever seen on XBL) seems to enjoy FM3 more than any racing game.
How do I know this? Everyone keeps going back to it. It's over 1 1/2 years old, and still most people playing racings games are on this game.
In my opinion, Forza is the most realistic racing game on the Xbox360. This is a personal opinion, and one of which I believe fully. Whatever anyone else says either in reply or out of the blue is personal opinion too. So I'm changing your quote to...
nickyf1 wrote:In my opinion, I don't think Forza's handling is so realistic either.
The end.
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
It isn't, it just isn't. I know this from years of watching motorsport, watching how cars and drivers react to bumps, turns, crests.. I know this from driving on other racing simulations on the PC and Xbox 360. I also know this from doing Mechanics in my AH Physics course, and helping a friend and classmate who races karts with his project, which dealt with centripetal force, and involved gathering data at the track, getting data from the tyre manufacturer and helping with finding mathematical expressions for what his kart was experiencing while cornering. So I have a pretty good idea of how mass should act when under the influence of gravity, friction and other external forces.
Forza 3's tyre model, for example, is decent enough to provide a believable handling model, which makes the game enjoyable enough to play. However it does lack some fundamental road feel mid corner. You should be able to feel a threshold of grip throughout the corner, and feel the tyres being dragged through the corner. There is also a lack of feel when driving over crests. The car is glued to the road, and the throttle, because of the tyre model, feels more like an ''on/off switch'' than a throttle.
Is this a bad thing? No. Forza isn't supposed to be a hardcore racing simulation, and due to this fact, Turn 10 have done a pretty good job in the past. But if its realism we are looking for, I believe Shift actually feels better in some areas than Forza.
The only true racing simulation on console is Simbin's Race Pro, which does many things regarding simulation very well and provides a great level of immersion, moreso than Forza because of this, but it does lacks many of features that make Forza so enjoyable too.
Feel free to believe Forza 3 is the best sim on the console, but I do not consider it to be. Sorry.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
You know what had an awesome simulation? Pure Tech Racing. I was lucky enough to go down an meet up with Chris in London last week as we went to PTR. It used Netkar pro and it was incredible. I realise a lot of it was down to the hydraulic simulator and the incredible force feedback but I actually felt like I wa driving a real car on the edge. Hoping to download Netkar and try it out on my PC after the TORA 24.
I enjoy all racing games and I can see the playability in everyone of them. Forza is my favourite, not because of the handling, but because of the customisation and openness of the game. I really enjoyed Shift 2, especially witha wheel, because I had a sense of achievement from driving those GT1 cars properly. I love Burnout because I can crash into stuff and blow things up. We all have a different opinion about racing games as none of us are right. All we cansay though, the reason we are here, is because we love racing games.
Now let's move on and use this thread for what it was meant for. I really hope more GT3 cars make it into the game. I assume the Z4 will be a blank car like the Forza 3 DTM cars as I can't see them using the NFS livery...

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
No sim will ever be realistic. The closest sim I know of, is the one the F1 teams have. You can't go on an Xbox, then think you have a feel for the car, then go out on track in real life and it feel the same. No matter what wheel or set up you have, sims just can't do it. Although I do feel as if Test Drive 2 is close. For 1, the Veyron is crap round corners because it's heavy, true. And the Audi R8's, when you break, you go off and make a cup of tea, come back and it's still trying to stop! Dunno how real that is, has anyone driven an R8? But nothing will ever get close.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 4 Thread
Johnnyboy, In the Formula 1 paddock club don't they use F1 2010 as the base game? I remember reading a tweet about how Steven Hood, (T4RG4, F1 Chief game designer) grabbed the quickest time around Silverstone in it! Bit biased!
Anyway, I hope they have BTCC and/or WTCC cars, in there Touring Car spec. Would be happy even if there weren't team paint on them! Wishful Thinking.....

This makes me thing that Porsche have to be in the game, along with the Vette GT2, 458 GT2, and I am really hoping more prototypes.
