Has TORA run a DTM series in the past and is there any interest in running another one? I'm thinking this would be like the GT2 Tuesdays series where its just for fun and we aren't racing for points.

Re: DTM, V8 Supercar, Both
I'd be cool with racing in a DTM series, though I'd prefer a V8 Supercar series.

Re: DTM, V8 Supercar, Both
Maybe we should take a poll and see what more people would want to do.

Can a mod edit the OP and add a poll: DTM, V8 Supercar, Both?

Re: DTM, V8 Supercar, Both
If your going to run a DTM style series I believe you would have to run it like this:
2010 teams get first dibs on cars, in their team championship finishing order
(Ie, team champions choose which car they want to use first, runners up get second choice)
Only two drivers per team
First two teams to choose Mercedes and Audi cars will get the full untampered DTM cars
Second set of teams to chose Mercedes and Audi cars will have 5% Power reduced (To mimic "year old" machinery)
Third set of teams to chose Mercedes and Audi cars will have 10% power reduced (to mimic "two year old" machinery)
Any privateers wishing to take part will have to make do with 15% power handicap, this will also be the handicap for any team wishing to run the Opel Astra or the DTM spec Audi TT.
Harsh I know, but close to the real deal, correct?

Re: DTM, V8 Supercar, Both
I wouldn't mind another series of the V8s. Louis ran his DTM series which was good fun after we ran ours so I think another V8 series is in order.
As we are starting to run out of available days let me have a look at how we can work this in. The Shift 2 series finishes soon but I am planning on another one after the GT1 series that will be alternate weeks with the TCC. So that is Tusdays booked. Nicky runs the PTC weekly on Wednesdays with a possibilty of having a Forza GT1 series after it and Gashi still runs his ALMS GT2 series. So, Wednesdays look pretty full. Sundays are booked, as are Saturdays with the ARS and TASCAR running weekly.
Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays are clear so far, but you will still need to take into consideration the fact that some people may be racing in every other events and may want a break so numbers could be low. You could make it a smaller series and I do like the idea of making it stock. If someone wants me to I can set it up but I would like somebody to run it as I can't make every week.

Re: DTM, V8 Supercar, Both
Hmm, I hadn't considering the calendar problem. I'm more than willing to run this, but the problem is that I'm in California and during the week, any races would have to be in the evening for me to be there, which would make it kind of hard for any UK/EU guys to take part.
Maybe we could run these as support races to the ISCC and GT series or something?
edit: Also, the poll added to the OP doesn't work for me. I can't vote.

Re: DTM, V8 Supercar, Both
The last DTM series I did was run by the VxR guys and we ran forced stock tuning and upgrades, with a 5% power handicap on the Opel and Merc, the cars ended up to be very equal and very fun to drive even without tuning.

Re: DTM, V8 Supercar, Both
Could we do a multi class race in this? I know the DTM's are super quick with downforce and all that but there in a class of there own when it comes to V8 Supercars. . .

Re: DTM, V8 Supercar, Both
V8 or DTM on a friday night i can do but they have to be stock tuning to keep it close and i also think the Opel SHOULDNT be allowed in the DTM.
