Re: BTCC 2009: News, Rumours and stories..
Its pretty much the same cars they use in the WTCC, with the exception of the Integra, Astra Coupe and MG, which are BTC-T cars which have closer 300hp.

Re: BTCC 2009: News, Rumours and stories..
Yup, saw that this morning. I can't lament the loss of something we didn't have, I'm more disappointed there's still no news on Plato, or the 2nd seats at Team Aon and Tempus.
Although, looking at the times Chilton set in testing, the Focus isn't looking all that great. Sandbagging?

Re: BTCC 2009: News, Rumours and stories..
Yeah, I heard all that, but it's the usual rumour mill.
I suspect we'll see just one Tempus car at Brands Hatch, although I hope they prove me wrong and get Plato. He's the only one I think has a chance of taking Gio's crown, regardless of the car he's in. The Lacetti worked in the WTCC, and although I suspect the Vectra is stronger than any car competing in the WTCC, I think the Lacetti/Plato combination would take points.
I mean, he won his second race for SEAT in a brand new, untried car. The guy is a class act, a very talented driver, and I really don't see all the negative side of his character that is dredged up. Yeah, he's rough and forceful, and can play tricks, but it works, as Neal and Giovanardi have often proved recently. The guy is a genuine, passionate fighter.
My favourite ever Plato move was a feint he played on Collard at the hairpin at Croft in 2005. He was looking to come round the outside then just effortless pulled inside at the corner as Collard tried to make his car bigger. It just looked so easy and Plato was in control from the start. It was like watching one of those moves in football that you just know will end in a goal, there was nothing stopping Plato taking that position.
Anyway, enough Plato-worship, this is turning into one of my blog entries here!

woah, forgot about this sickening accident from 2006:

Just a week after Mark Porters fatal accident at Bathurst, which involved a hard drivers side impact, one of the things that makes touring car racing so dangerous.
