Well I'm an avid racing enthusiast but not overly hardcore (at least not yet). Located currently in Oman (GMT +4). Came across this website through the recruit forums on ForzaMotorsport.net

Having started with Forza at the third incarnation I'm still new to the console platform as I used to race strictly on PC until then. With Forza 4 however I've been taking console racing more seriously. The simulation feels so much better and having driven track for real, it does in many ways feel very realistic which is quite satisfying.

Unfortunately though the simulation aspect of Forza or any racing simulation for that matter is the incessant childishness we have to deal with. So I've been on the lookout for a great bunch of people that race like racing was meant to be and within limits. Can't wait to take part in some events.

Now I'm hoping it's as straight forward as showing up and adhering to the rules, but if there's more to it, I'd appreciate some pointing in the right direction.

cheers!

Hi oxide

The first thing you have to do pick a race number for yourself and you can do that by clicking Here.

Then it is basically read the rules of the series i.e. click Here (lick to "TORA GT24 - Rules and Regulations"). Then once you have made your choice with which car you would like to run then place your entry Here (link to "TORA GT24 Entry Form"). Final thing that you dont have to do but would be nice so we can predict how many will be racing just post "IN" Here (link to "TORA MSA GT24 - Round 1 - Hockenheim GP - 8pm GMT").

To see the layout of the sub forum for the GT24 click Here (link to "TORA GT24 (Forza 4 - Xbox 360)".

And welcome to TORA nice to have you here, sure you will enjoy it

That's a comprehensive reply, thanks a bunch Chucky!

Have already strolled through the GT24

Once you've entered into the GT24 series, you don't have to be able to show up for every race to be eligible to compete in individual races, correct?

Thanks for the welcome ATR DAN!

I'm going to do some practicing before commiting to any racing, especially learning to getting off the ABS assist.

Do most racers on here use wheels for controls? I did have the Xbox360 wireless wheel briefly but found it to be quite unrealistic and hence got rid of it. Any recommendations? I hear the fanatec wheels are the only ones worth getting, but quite pricey!

Hey Oxide and welcome to TORA cheers

As you can see, we're pretty open and ready to answer any questions.

When I first started I was a bit put off by the no ABS rules but I put in the effort and now I don't know if I could ever drive with it on again.

With regards to the wheels, I had an old Microsoft wheel which broke and I am currently waitint on my Fanatec to be released, alough yes, they are pretty pricey.

I think the new Mad Catz will be a very good in between wheel which comes out at the end of this month I think.

You could turn up for just one race if you wish or turn up for the whole championship.

I use a controller myself as dont have to room or the money to get a race set up, we have just oz who has a 3 screen set up, so we could say every way that someone could race someone races that way at tora.

ABS is a hard thing to get off but once you get off it there's no chance turning back.

Hey Richy,

Thanks! The assists are definitely something I could start doing without, but it gets quite messy with the controller, like playing twister with my fingers Razz

Cool! Not sure if I can get up and running in time for the start which is tomorrow, but will try and get setup ASAP! Can't see the google docs from work PC, so number request, car choice etc. coming as soon as I get home.

So far a great feeling being here, hoping for a similar or better experience in game.

Yes, I was actually just having a look at that earlier, I really should give that a go first.

My only issue that I'll have to live with is the timezone and working week. Here in Oman we work Sat to Wed with Thu-Fri off. So I'll have a groggy last working day after a night ling racing session which for me would only start at 12AM Razz
