What can we do Forza league racers?
Dear racers of TORA, and especially your leaders, I urge you to review the latest IFCA Newsletter and join us in solidarity with other notable Forza leagues. http://ifca.highforum.net/t5236-what-can-we-do-forza-league-racers
Re: What can we do Forza league racers?
This I like. I have been wanting to try and get the groups to at least work on one race series together and have us all come into play to make at least one championship featuring all our racers.
Myself, Polaris of FLMS and Chrisupra from VM are working to try and get a 5 round series on the go next year bring at least these three communities together.
We can still do our own thing and we probably always will, but I truely believe in what you are saying in your article and it is something I want to see happen.

Fantastic! Now if we can just get the others out there to see the same value and the enormous possibilities in unifying the racing community, this could be tremendous!
The others have been contacted in one form or another, but TORA is the first to throw their hat in the ring, bravo!

Re: What can we do Forza league racers?
I can only see it as a positive thing. Its fine that we all do our own thing, whether it's similar or very different, but there is no use in all of us 'competing' against each other when afterall, what we are here for is to let people race and give them a fun and clean environment to do so.
As I said to the guys at VM and FLMS, we should start on something small to test the waters, a 5 round championship spread out over the year, and then see how it goes. We can get a feel for how everyone will race with one another and we can then do our own thing throughout the year as we do now.

Ahh, exactly right. Start out simple and easy, and then work towards a more complex league championship cycle. We all have our own native events we like to do, and as long as we don't try to impose to such a degree that a unification championship would interupt what we normally do, I think that would work.
Re: What can we do Forza league racers?
Great article, really great. I'd really love to see some sort of inter-club/forum series going on! If we had one big championship, and still had each communities own 'domestic' series, we'd have a great little Forza racing world going on, eh?

Mega Race Of Champions. who is the greatest online racer out there
Re: What can we do Forza league racers?
Something like this would be fantastic to see: 'Domestic' Leagues (Any individual forum run league) > Interforum B (Unified leagues catering for different timezones and less experienced drivers) > Interforum A (The big one!)
Of course, what sort of cars would the unified leagues use?

Re: What can we do Forza league racers?
Starting with one race, it would have to be something that is pretty identifiable and that isn't a league specific series like our GT series, so something like Le Mans in LMP1, 2 and GT would be a good place to start. Although I would have no objections to using the TORA GT cars, they have proven pretty popular with the teams
Re: What can we do Forza league racers?
I think the big race should be single make, in something that's somewhere in between a Touring Car and a GT car.
But.. of course, we have to get the whole thing organised before we decide on what rules to use!

Re: What can we do Forza league racers?
Maybe something like the V8s or the Lotus 124 would be pretty good. Maybe even the new Mazzer GT4.

Re: What can we do Forza league racers?
Or we could of course go for Radical's or FLM's. In fact.. Radical's would be perfect, they aren't too easy to drive, but are still a lot of fun, and fast enough!
200-300km race distance at a different host track each time. Have two races a year?

Re: What can we do Forza league racers?
Yes, typically for a large event like this, you are going to want everyone in identical cars for the most level playing field. This is very inviting to every level of driver because it seems the most fair. You also don't really want a leaderboard car, or a car that a particular league uses all the time.
A small selection of cars can be proposed by the league members, and then voted on by the league leaders, 1 vote per league. Then a track can be picked the same way.

Also, driving aids should be forbidden.

Indeed, I think we can get agreement on that for the most part or some variation of it.
Re: What can we do Forza league racers?
Depending on the car, but if it really was going to be a best of the best then it would be somethign we would consider. We only allow TCS if people want it and the driving line for people to use as a referance anyway. ABS and STM are banned.

Yes, this is the generally accepted terms in most leagues.
Re: What can we do Forza league racers?
My 2 cents as leader of The RWS is either V8 Supercars or DTM where more than 1 car is offered, but you know that both cars are equal and you don't need to rely on speccing the cars. One thing that we have seen is that the Very fast guys tend to all pick the same car regardless of wether there are any other options so for example if you ran the TORA GT cars literally the whole top 50% of the grid would use the same car.
In my view we should allow all tuning however but keep the builds the same.
It should also be run with assists off, if we're looking to find the best racer on forza then ALL assists including racing line should be off. If you have watched people like b0x and NiKroX racing there is literally no mistakes with assists off anyway, if you allowed them TCS and ABS the racing would be SO sterile it would be unreal.
I'd run 1 race per month on a saturday or wednesday night probably. Sunday night is not great because probably 80% of the leagues race on that night.
If we could get T10 to support us and actively promote the championship then we could find some epic sponsors and get prize money and booby prizes for other guys that compete but don't always win, and MSP prizes for side-series for the leading Forza Racing teams, and also Racing league teams. MSP, cars and credits are always good ones but someone like FANATEC would definitely be interested in a championship like this. Especially as I say if it is officially endorsed by T10 and therefore we can really get it some recognition with epic sales figures and numbers of races per day online etc.
I think the best way to do it would be to create a new website solely for running the championship on so that it is not biased between a single series. We need a member from each of the main championships who are willing to get involved on the governing body, and we can employ some of the news team guys from each of the series to produce race reports and news articles to make sure that there is always something to talk about with driver interviews etc.
This could be epic. Lets get this ball rolling guys.

If this were to happen, it'll need a lot of work, and only one event to begin with.
Re: What can we do Forza league racers?
As this is something all of the communties need to discuss and it will no doubt take a huge amount of work to get something in place. It's good to see that there is this communication is starting and we are discussing it. We will be going further with this but I am sure the best way to do it, like Monk said, is to get reps from each community to discuss it with each other and try and work something out. We should do this via email or something so that we are not just bouncing ideas of everybody and having all of the community open to interpreting what we say in the wrong way.
Thread locked and we will discuss this behind the scenes.
