Dunno why the picture of the other side is smaller, but I'm guessing the new bit is going to be big enough for the V8 supercar paddock, and then the old pits will still have the supports...

wouldn' suprise me, and webber, well the new build for next year are:
new A, B and C-pillars to allow for the same frames to be used on all 3 (nissan next year) to 'clip' their own manufacture's body panels on. also the fuel tank is now under the floor and behind the back seat so incidents like barbagello last year doesn't happen again. the driver is situated more towards the middle with the whole steering wheel casing taken off the steering shaft for more safety, the new body panels are a lot lighter and more aero dynamic for better power to weight. also the rear axil will be a transaxil so the diff and transmission are 'better connected' and the whole transmission move towards the rear of the car for better weight distribution, a lower centre of gravity and this will make the cars easier to driver for international drivers. new tyres will be put in place (can't remember all the details atm) and all of this makes the cars a whopping 30% less to build

But by the looks of things, this is not a works type deal, like with Nissan. This is more of an NGTC-type situation.

Interesting.. It will be great to see international variety at Bathurst again though, that's for sure. This definitely opens some scope up for having some Mercedes works drivers at the enduros.

I wish we'd get to see that, but it seems Shane is retiring from V8SC at the end of 2012... to go drifting.

I hate to see real racing talent go to waste, and I am sorry to fans of it, but drifting just is not nor never will be real racing.

Now now, it takes skill and a big set to go sideways at 100 plus, but surely if you slide with less angle you go round the corner quicker and win the race, or are there style points awarded, if there are then its a judges decision which I dont think will ever be fair.

Like when I took art, my paintings were amazing but because they weren't dark and moody I got marked down.
To prove it I did an almost completely painted black painting with orange and white swirls to the middle with a childs face coming through the swirls, got me a top mark and i thought it was sh!t, apparently it was a rendition of a memory..........pot smoking teachers, get a real job!

Shane Van Gisbergen to retire from V8 Supercars at the end of this season. Hes only 23 too!
