I dunno what to say actually, they had high hopes for the next season as well...i hope prodrive actually make it into f1 at some point now...
Re: HONDA QUITS F1
i really dont know what to think with that becuase i thought they would do a lot better next season it will be interesting to see what will happen to Button and Barichello or however you spell it also Bruno Senna had a possibility of a drive there as well

Re: HONDA QUITS F1
link? i know that toyota and ferrari have both said that if the single engine thing happens then they will be out.
Re: HONDA QUITS F1
they should have kept tobacco sponsorship no money troubles then...look at ferrari
Re: HONDA QUITS F1
They have to find a buyer by Jan.... would there be a certain amount of irony if DR and Prodrive got it? hehe!!
Re: HONDA QUITS F1
Yeah Reckon Pro drive or a Dubahi group, Brawn prob has ferrari engines ready 2 role.
Maseriti sponsorship? lol
Bad news but with recent huge manfactures f1 we may need go back to good old days when mafactrues supply engines and independent teams run the cars.
but I bet honda will be back in lemans if toyota confirm there plans by 2010.
With there hydrogen racer.

Re: HONDA QUITS F1
if i'm honest, i liked the way it was were all the teams were independently run and they had manufacturers build them their engines. it may be the way to go. But unfortunately it looks like the single engine thing is gathering pace with cosworth being the supplier

Re: HONDA QUITS F1
THE PLAN IS NOT A SINGLE ENGINE!
THE PLAN IS A SINGLE ENGINE SPEC!
COSWORTH ARE OFFERING TO SUPPLY TEAMS THATS ALL...

Re: HONDA QUITS F1
Well that and the tender has been given to them. Mosley gave something like the end of the week or something for teams to sign up to that. Thing is I doubt Ferrari is pleased with that option and tbh its not what F1 is about.
It's unbelieveable that Honda has had to make this move but look thw world over and there are signs of teams and organisers tightning their belts. Reduced entries, reduced calanders, things like that. Its unbelieveable!
I'd love to see F1 return to the concept of the privateers but if teams like Williams are feeling the pinch as well as reports state then NO ONE in the sport is safe. TBH how long did people honestly think £300m budgets could be sustained for?

Re: HONDA QUITS F1
where've you seen that??? Audi in F1? Thought that had been ruled out.....anything in the rules about using diesels?
Re: HONDA QUITS F1

Re: HONDA QUITS F1
Audi would be interesting but my only concern there is that they have already said they're reducind their Le Mans Series activities dramatically sooo would they REALLY be interested in picking up an F1 team? I know VW out n out said they weren't interested a few years ago. One would imagine Audi would prefer remaining in their dominant position in LMS than risking all with an uncertain F1 dalliance
Re: HONDA QUITS F1
well since Audi VW and Porshe are one and the same then i could see a rather large budget. But tbh its hard to see a new team appearing especially with the credit crunch just now.
i read something about Audi entering ages ago, and there were prototype designs going around. The cars looked sweet cos one had red bits on it like the nose and stuf where the other had yellow bits. It looked pretty awesome, but i think F1 cars have to be identical don't they?
If a new team enters it will be something from the middle east...they have lots of cash lol
and about the standard engine thing. If the teams don't run the standard cosworth engine that is given to them then they can either make their own...but with cosworth parts and the standard gearbox, or they can make a totally different one but then the whole engine is taken and completely limited so that it is basically the cosworth one....and they still have to use standard parts.

WRONG
Its to a standard spec ie like we do with PIs
but a lot more complicated lol
so BHP and lbT will be =

Re: HONDA QUITS F1
A number of Facebook groups have already been set up about this! I've joined hehe. I REALLY hope this team gets pulled out of trouble. It's simply not fair after all the rubbish they have had to put up with for sooo many years.
