Marc VDS hits ISCC, in association with Nurbracer
Nurbracer are proud to announce our partnership with professional racing team Marc VDS.
Marc VDS is a world-renowned racing team, based in Gosselies, Belgium. Although the team starting racing Gillets under the name Belgian Racing, their first true venture, and subsequent success, was in 2009, entering a Ford GT GT1 into the FIA GT Championship. Although they continue to this day racing in GT with a Z4, the team also entered the 2009 and 2010 Dakar Rally. In 2010, they joined Multimatic Motorsports to enter a Ford Mustang into the FIA GT3 Championship, and in 2011 entered an Aston Martin Lola B09/60 in LeMans. To this day, they strive with wins under their belt, racing in Moto2 and the Blancpain Endurance Series.
Nurbracer approached Marc VDS incognito earlier this year, asking if they could supply a car for the North American ISCC. After some talk and arrangements had been made, Marc VDS promised to supply us at least one car for the duration of the season. This proposed car was to be the Ford GT GT3, built by Matech. The car had run the 24 Hours of Spa in 2010, the 2010 FIA GT3 season, and at Monza for the 2011 BEC.
However, towards the end of the TORA GT Season 8, Marc VDS had willingly decided to supply three BMW Z4 GT3s. The BMWs had run in the VLN, the 24 Hours of Spa 2011 (starting in pole), and had won the Magny-Cours and Silverstone legs of the BEC 2011. The newer cars had also won at Monza and Silverstone in this year's BEC, and had came second at Paul Ricard; The team are likely contenders for the BEC crown, currently sitting on 1st for the GT3 PRO Cup.
We have kept the original liveries of the Z4s, as Marc VDS are still using the two newer cars, which will be driven by Stan and Nick. After the 24 Hours of Spa later this month, the cars will be serviced and sent our way to Sebring, where the stickers will be changed, and fresh tires equipped. Although this alternating timetable could be at times a nuisance, Marc VDS are indeed a trustworthy team.
Nurbracer will be driving the Z4s under the GTC catagory, competing against a large field of Porsches, and a few Z4s and SLSs.
More photos of the cars will be available soon
