Plenty of rounds left yet (and TCC too), I'm sure we'll get to have a battle at some point

You'd have to have one heck of a shocking quali session to end up in a lobby with me
Re: TORA MSA GT Meeting 2 - Hockenheimring National
Never say never Jono
Race 1 was reletively lonely for me and as for Race 2, I had to drive that one with one eye on my rear view.

Re: TORA MSA GT Meeting 2 - Hockenheimring National
Many thanks guys for the congrats. I really appreciate it!
Thanks also to my team mates, especially on the feedback regarding the set-up. This victory was for the team so I'm glad to have done it for you guys. Mugello might be a bit of a struggle for us, but I'll keep trying my best as always.
A big shout out to Tom (BG Beanz), S2M Coblet and CQR Haburi who I had some close but awesome racing with in both races.

Fair enough guys some good feedback. I'm still very much in the "old-TORA" mindset where we used to call out everything, communication was key back in those days.
Seems like much has changed since I've been away.

Cheers HABURi - the most annoying things is that I wasn't really confident of my pace around Hockenheim..........I check the quali times this morning and a time anywhere near my practice pace would have put me in A Lobby
Oh well, there's always next round........................hang on - I'm missing the next round as I'm away on holiday
Think it's time to see whether I can get my Civic round Nurburg GP in a decent enough time for the TCC, sounds like I'll need to throw a rope over the rear wing of a certain CQR Suzuki though
Re: TORA MSA GT Meeting 2 - Hockenheimring National
Well it sounds like I missed a great night racing due to the stupid rrod again. Just on the finish line of qually. not good. I think I managed to fix it again but don't know for how long. Would like to congrats the team for the finishes and will done to razz . Sorry once again guys.

Congrats on the race win Dan, I've just seen the replay and there was some mighty fine driving in both races. I think the overtake you pulled on me lasted about half a lap
... If I can also shout out to CQR Magic (for the race 1 win), BG Beanz (for keeping me company in both races), CQR Phil & CQR VtecTorque (for making me very nervous for the last 5 laps), S2M NIGHTMARE (for making A-Lobby and a good finish in race 1) and finally to the admin and lobby hosts (for the smooth running of an excellent championship)
Hopefully in a fortnight I can leave my nerves at the door and hit my practice pace during a race

Re: TORA MSA GT Meeting 2 - Hockenheimring National
Thanks Coblet, seems like everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. Several people have said to me how much tension and nerves they felt in the lobby last night - think it builds up during superpole, and then the formation lap and everyone's so close on laptimes, the pressure just builds and builds! I've done enough of these series that I don't usually notice it anymore, but I did last night, the lobby was buzzing and it was brilliant

Re: TORA MSA GT Meeting 2 - Hockenheimring National
I couldn't agree more. I myself have been involved in hundreds of series races and had learned to cope with the nerves but due to the quality of racers in this series it's like starting all over again...

Re: TORA MSA GT Meeting 2 - Hockenheimring National
You're right, it's the quality of the drivers and the closeness of the cars, puts a lot more pressure on the driver to deliver that last tenth of a second in every corner, every lap.

I sometimes feel that I am too quiet come racetime, but its due to nervous concentration. When I am about to overtake someone, I am as focused as I can be, and simply forget to tell them what my plans are. Besides, where I raced in real life, two way communications were banned, so I couldn't talk to a spotter let alone other racers, so telling someone I am passing is a new phenomenon to me.
On the flip side, in the TASCAR Sunset race, I think I did a good job of letting lapped cars know I was coming up on them, but often misjudged my approach speed so they ended up waiting a quarter of a lap for me to get there

ATR DAN wrote:Completely unexpected but extremely thrilled to have gathered the most points from this meeting.
The first race was a disaster. I was side by side with two cars heading up to turn 2 but I lost my braking point and went straight on. How on earth I managed to avoid SNR ANDY, I have no idea.
But the second race, WOW! Great start jumping from 5th to 3rd. Then, it was a case of chasing Tom and the Ferrari of S2M Coblet infront of me and take the chequered flag! YAAAAAY! First victory in the GT's since season 5 or 6 I think, but it's officially the first victory for ATR Dynamics so I'm thrilled with that achievement for the team.
Well done Dan, you deserved that one. Once you got into second, i knew it was only a matter of time before you caught me. Not to blow my own trumpet or anything, but i defend hard when i race, and i was confident that i could keep you behind me. On one of the corners i made a small mistake, and you just pounced on it, i totally didn't expect you to make the move so i didn't bother trying to defend, and by the time i realised it was too late to, you just made mince meat of me!
So on that note, a real well done to you, was a great race! I managed to put in a 1:28 flat to catch you on the penultamate lap, but then you just edged the gap out again!
2nd will have to suffice for now, sooo close to my first TORA win, it'll come though!

Congratulations MAGiC and DAN!
Well done!
Too bad I couldn't race. I was doing consistent mid 27's.

I was in lobby E and other that standaman lagging out and taking out 1 car I thought it was very well behaved. I saved the second race, it is in my storefront as evidence I looked at a few cars there definitely isn't consistent rule breaking on the 1st corner by anyone

Re: TORA MSA GT Meeting 2 - Hockenheimring National
I just watched the second race replay again I see one of the mclarens done it couple of times at best but I'm not a Marshall. I dont have any beef with it. I came off there a couple of times I'll admit to that

From the rules:
"During a race meeting, each time the track limits are not adhered to, a warning will be given. Each driver are allowed five warnings for exceeding the track limits, at any part of the circuit. If a sixth and subsequent occurrences happen within a race meeting, then that driver will lose a position for each time the track limits are exceeded.
The track limits must be adhered to in the event of gaining an advantage whilst having an on-track battle. If the limits were exceeded to avoid a collision no warning will be given, however if a driver overtakes a driver by exceeding track limits, the driver must give that position back before they may continue their race. If the driver which was overtaken backs off heavily either through incident or "mechanical" failure, then the position will not need to be given back.
The inside of a corners limits are denoted by the the edge of the tarmac of the course (and painted track lines in a majority of cases)
The outside of a corner, both entrance and exit, are denoted by the edge of the “rumble strips”.
Where no “rumble strips or painted lines exist, the track limits are the main tarmac areas."
Directly from a race marshal.
CQR Magictap wrote:Can all Lobby hosts at Hockenheim please make sure they save the Quali replays and send to me.
Just a friendly reminder to all. Track limits apply, and at Hockenheim there are places where a clean lap can be achieved with less than two wheels on the circuit inside the white line.
I will be pushing for qualification qrid penalties at your next race plus the inability to use that race as a dropped round for offenders.

Re: TORA MSA GT Meeting 2 - Hockenheimring National
I don't get why you have copy and pasted the rules we all know them. It's what we signed up for. If you have a issue why don't you take it directly to a Marshall ?? From what I've seen on the replay it happened a few times but i also saw sebastian vettel do it 3 times on sunday !! I didn't see anyone over the 5 times nor did I have anything to complain about during the race itself.

Re: TORA MSA GT Meeting 2 - Hockenheimring National
If it's what everyone signed up for and they've been read and understood then why are people not following them? There's a distinct difference between coming off as you overshot the corner and using the run off to slingshot into turn two.
It will be picked up with the marshals don't worry.
I saw Vettel run wide a few times yeah, but not purposely. Just because you didn't have an issue that doesn't mean nobody else did.
