TCC Season 7
Back on March 6 we kicked off the TCC, we knew it would be a great series but did we really think it would be as good as it has been? I don’t think so. With the first event at Tsukuba we set up with 47 drivers hitting the track with the qualifying times being close with pole for that event at a 1.01.399 and in 22nd place on the grid 1.02.381, just under a second for the top 22 drivers. CQR HABURI took home gold for the first race while BG Wumba got the gold for the reverse grid second race.
With the racing close it was sure that we would keep the numbers and that was for sure, the second race at Motegi East got up to 51 drivers this was causing problems with the points system that in the bottom lobby if you finished 1st you got 2 points and the rest of the field got 1 point. 1.32.645 was the pole time here, a second down the field ended you in 12th so not as close as the first race but that did not affect the racing the whole race field was split by about 5 seconds. CQR staying strong and taking gold again but this time by CQR MAGIC for race 1 while Cropper 93 got the gold for race 2. Four races four winners.
A new track for the TCC was up next as we headed to Infineon on the Nascar track. 47 drivers joined us for a trip into the unknown. Pole time of 1.21.155 a second down the field was only 7th so the times were starting to draw thin but the racing as close as ever still but it had a repeat of Motegi with CQR MAGIC claiming his 2nd gold in race race and Cropper 93 claiming his second gold in race 2.
Sedona Club hit the cards now 45 drivers put the racing gloves on and all got a shock with the pole time of 1.13.851 2nd place driver only got 1.14.382 so half a second was the gap for the top two drivers. A lot of drivers don’t like this track but it always brings out good racing with the fast flowing corners and the very annoying sticky gress. We welcomed CQR VtecTorquE to the top spot in the first race to take home the gold and Raza20 claiming gold for the second.
To the track that never should of happened (in many of the drivers eyes) we hit Maple Vally Short with the numbers still staying strong at 44 drivers pole here was 0.42.659 times drawed close again as this time 0.43.634 was 25th on the grid. Meeting 5 saw the first Double race winner with CQR MAGIC taking the gold for both races making his total to 4 race wins in the TCC.
We got to Road Atlanta thinking that the numbers might start to drop from now on as 35 drivers turned up, this being the first time under 40 drivers for this event. 1.01.652 for the pole here. Warnings were given for this event with cutting of the track. So with the hopes of clean racing we got a success rating again. CQR VtecTorquE got his 2nd gold while a team that dominated TCC in the past had finally got on the top spot with PLOW tubbi.
Now that the half way race was over we thought the numbers would now drop as they do with most the championships held at TORA and we all thought this was normal when Catalunya only pulled in 26 drivers knocking it down to 2 lobbies. 1.20.618 for pole and everyone fighting for the top lobby, the cut off point was 1.21.828 for lobby A. CQR MAGIC got yet another gold for Race 1 taking his total now up to 5 but race 2 got another new winner with BG Hainesy taking his first gold.
Meeting 8 at Iberian, with the thoughts of the drop in numbers we was wondering how low it would get this week and was we in for a shock, 47 drivers took to the grid making 4 lobbies again, this took us all by surprise. Pole here was 0.56.756 and the times so close again here that 0.57.745 was starting 25th on the grid. CQR HABURi found a way to the top spot again making this win number 2 with the first race win back at the start of the season in the first race. And with newbie TCC runner ONR Ichigo taking the gold in the second race.
Now we head to Germany for a double, first off we went to Hockenheim and 44 drivers joined us for an auctioned packed race. 1.08.895 for the pole 1.09.872 for 15th. Everyone still trying to get to the top and claim gold. The first race CQR HABURi showed the same strong showing from last time out and took the gold making that 3 wins now. But race 2 we saw a new winner and a new team S2M NIGHTMARE got his first gold. Corner cutting and running out wide was something that is being looked at after this race after many complaints.
On to Nurgburgring we only got 2 lobbies this time with 33 drivers but still a strong showing for this late in the season. 1.35.282 was the pole and with the bumps around here it was hard to get a perfect lap everytime. Another fantastic race and more new drivers to show to the top step, S2M Coblet got the gold in Race 1 while S2M Jono got the gold in race 2. How great it is to see new drivers getting to the top.
We only have 1 meeting left, 2 races we head to Silverstone for the last event CQR-IKEA have won the Teams Championship with 1719 as CQR Randoms are in 2nd with 1383.
The battle is still on for 2nd with CWR Randoms and NTR only 64 between them and technically Team British Gamers could get there as they are 190 points.
The drivers championship is which CQR driver will take the Championship. CQR MAGIC is currently top with 821 points, CQR VtecTorquE is 2nd with 792 and CQR HABURi with 765.

Tuesday 7th August 2012 to find out who will take the title.
I would just like to thank ckBrenneke and Richy59 for all the effort before hand with setting this championship up. With the Staff at TORA for the smooth running of the championship. To the hosts of the lobbies, without you guys this wouldn’t be able to run. And finally to everyone who has taken part in this series, I feel this is the best season of TCC so far.

Re: TCC Championship Blog
Absolutely, I'm looking forward to the *next* season already - the competition just got stronger and stronger as this season went on, shame it's nearly over cos the racing has been utterly brilliant every round!

Re: TCC Championship Blog
S2M where late starting but have loved every race with some great thrills and spills, we will never know what the championship would of looked like if we had started at the beginning but I think S2M might of been able to mix it with the top drivers.
I can say S2M are looking forward to the next season which we will start at round 1
