Actually no, id say 1 second, 2 seconds is a long time between each car. In a grid of 12, a car frighting for the lead of lose 24 seconds to its rival. Which is too much IMO.

Re: TORA Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone - Rules and Regulations
The only thing with that is that cars get off the line at different speeds, eg a Porsche RSR is a beast off the line so the team in it would probably get an advantage each time.....

Re: TORA Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone - Rules and Regulations
We could, as the track is much shorter than Le Mans, do a Random start for each stint but have the first lap under 'safety car' and have a single file rolling start.
Re: TORA Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone - Rules and Regulations
Yea, just need to have a target start time so one lobby doesn't gain a massive amount over an other with a newbie at the front not have a clue what he's doing.
Personal I think a standing start with a 1 second role off, keeps it simple.

Re: TORA Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone - Rules and Regulations
make sure you add "MSA TORA TEC" to your friendlist, and that would allow us to find you and send out invites. Same goes for ALL competitors in the Britcar race. If we can't find you, you WON'T get an invite.
Re: TORA Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone - Rules and Regulations
why don't you set the lobby to sort by PI?
I personally like the one lap rolling start, makes it fair. OR we do a quick 1 lap race to sort out the order

btw I didn't get an invite from MSA TORA TEC but I added it and I am on MSA TORA GT 2 and MSA TORA ISCC 2 JUST incase you forget, plus im on Simons FL as well. but hey, you guys found me easily enough for todays qualy, so it might not be a problem really

IMHO random could end up being worse. Example: 1st place starts 1st, yet second place starts 12th, or here's another example... multiple cars on the lead lap, but due to random draw the leader loses the lead via random draw... how is that fair?
Not as fair as starting in the spot you earn in qualifying and racing is.
Re: TORA Britcar 24 Hours of Silverstone - Rules and Regulations
So how do you want to do that without losing lots of time?Flyin Mikey J wrote:Ianmr wrote:Would the grid set to completely random not be more fair rather than the same team getting and advantage even stint?

PI order won't work, because then it's the same car on the same place every time.
Rolling start won't work because of the different lobbies. Different 1st lap speed.
With random grid they're sort of simulating an Safety Car start. And it's random, so you might start 12th in Stint 2 and your direct competitor 1st. But you might start 1st in Stint 3 and your direct competitior in 12th.
