just looked at the power outage map here in CT, about 60% of CL&P customers are without power in my city, I being one of the 40% who still have power. but 97% of the town i work in is out, so i have no work today. apparently a couple people have perished here in CT thus far (firefighter and some woman got trapped under a tree), and one idiot went missing cuz he went swimming Rolling Eyes. condolences go out to the families who lost their loved ones

well for the moment its sunny! lol....wait not anymore....and its raining lol

just woke up to find my midterm (and school for the day for that matter) is cancelled because the schools water main broke. Lucky I guess, which ALSO means I get to sleep in! so later!

oooh just looked at CNN's Hurricane tracker. NOW they are saying the eye of sandy will pass RIGHT thru where I am! very interesting.

No more news of deaths here in Canada, but CBC is reporting that there are a dozen or so people in the USA that have died.

I'm a little confused about all this... Is Sandy the same thing that's hitting New York? I heard 16 people have died so far...

Sandy is the Hurricane that is hitting the East Coast of America, which has New York on it.

I personally don't find that twitter account amusing seeing as people have been killed because of the storm.

Even if there ain't no storm in Dublin we still get rain a week at a time. The highest tempature during the Irish summer was 21*C! There's a reason the Romans never came here because of the climate. Sad
P.S. Its lashing now.

i hope everyone is okay, ans i personally think that this weekend's racing be posponed because of whats happening because if most of the americans dont have power ehis means they wont be able to practice and/or race so i perosnally think its wrong to race without them, and yes i am aware that this could cause huge problems but i think its only fair, and please keep safe

its still early in the week to tell whether or not we will have power. I'm pretty sure the worst of it is past us but the issue now is the shear amount of rain/snow (in some more inland US states and nothern Ontario, Canada) we are getting. it's been raining pretty much nonstop the last few days.

CBC has now upped the American deathtoll to 35, and nearly 8million without power. In Canada we just have the one and only 200,000 people or so are without power.

The storm is also drifting westerly by the minute. yesterday is was gonna go east of Lake Ontario by many miles and now its predicted to go right over Toronto
