The deadline was actually for teams that had, at the point of making the "deadline message", still not chosen any car - i.e. they were blocking a team slot with "Choice 1: Nothing yet, Choice 2: Nothing yet" which we felt was unfair if there was a team out there that was already organised, but unable to enter as there were no slots left. Thankfully everyone has now chosen their cars, and the "reconfirmation" of the other teams has been an unexpected bonus!
