Introducing the EZT Mustang Cobra R 5Hundreds
EZT Motorsport is proud to announce the next Sunday night series! In this event, drivers will find themselves behind the wheel of the 2000 Ford Mustang Cobra R racing 100 miles at each of the 5 venues.
In 2000, the Cobra R returned for a production run of 300 with a 5.4L DOHC engine (6500 rpm redline) that was rated at 385 hp (287 kW) and 385 lbf·ft (522 N·m) of torque. This model was designed to be a race-ready high-performance vehicle in a perfectly street legal package; as such, it lacked many of the comforts the base production line Cobra enjoyed. . This model had no radio/audio equipment, no air conditioning, no cruise control and no rear seat. Each of the 300 produced featured a charcoal interior with cloth clad Recaro buckets and sporting a Performance Red exterior.
Each EZT Mustang Cobra R 5Hundreds car has been modified from the street legal race spec to a full sport race spec. Its meager internals stripped out and it’s now fitted with a full roll cage and race approved seats and fittings - resulting in a lowering of its weight from 3589lbs to 2984lbs. The already aggressive stance has been enhanced by the use of stiffer lowered springs and custom shocks lowering it by another ½” and further stiffened by the use of hollow Anti Roll Bars and polyurethane bushings. As a pure track car the V8’s output has been increased from 385hp to 420hp by the use of a bespoke race exhaust – lets hear those horses!. Upgraded brakes, clutch, drivetrain, flywheel, gearbox and diff have also been installed for increased safety and performance.
Cervini's body kit, full race adjustable rear wing and 18” FIKSE wheels with race rubber finishes off the package.
Ready to race.
Ready for the EZT Mustang Cobra R 5Hundreds!
For this event, there will be three championships on offer to the drivers. All drivers will be entered in the Drivers Championship, but, based on their own individual circumstances they will either enter the Teams Championship or Privateers Championship as well. Total purse for the series totals a generous 8M CR to be contested among the various championships.
The Mustang Cobra R 5Hundreds series will begin on the 18th of November and run through five consecutive weeks until the series finale on the 16th December. Five weeks of racing against all manner of skill levels, where everyone is there to have some good clean racing and where anyone can do well.

Re: Introducing the EZT Mustang Cobra R 5Hundreds
Ugh... you guys and your "while I am eating my Sunday dinner" timeslot.
You know I like racing with you guys at EZT... but Sunday dinner hour is set in stone as one time all week that racing is verboten.

Yeh, sorry mikey.
Its always difficult to get a time slot suitable to all.
If i'd made it earlier it would clash with other series. Later and it would be too late for me ( and it's my series!)

Just a wee bump for this.
25 laps around Road America in the 2000 Ford Mustang. Should be fun.
Interested? follow the link in the OP.
First race starts this Sunday 18th, qualification kicks off at midnight GMT.

Re: Introducing the EZT Mustang Cobra R 5Hundreds
Loved Road America - but now we move to a completelly different track - Infineon NASCAR!
This Sunday at 18:00 CST / 19:00 EST / 00:00 GMT (Mon) Qualifying begins.
This week sees racers run 50 laps of this twisty circuit in a race. A fixed pit window in the middle of the race rules out early pitters and on such a short track will ensures you'll always be in the mix of it.
There's only been one race this season to plenty of time to sign up and join the fun, just follow the link in the OP.
