Re: TORA V8 - Liveries and Vinyls
I hate to b!tch but I am not liking the way too big numberboards with the way too tiny numbers.
And the sunstrip still doesn't work on the 19

The numberboxs can be made smaller and should be placed above the rear wheel archs unless Tubbi says otherwise, as I am starting to doubt the placement of them (thats why no pictures are up yet). The Fords dont have sunstrips, we tryed them all, so you just fit it on the roof.

Re: TORA V8 - Liveries and Vinyls
that screws up my whole design :s do they have to be right above the window (as close as they can) or just on the roof so they're visible because i have a PIRTEK logo above the window like the real design
Re: TORA V8 - Liveries and Vinyls
First post is now updated with the sunstrip and numberbox.
All drivers should have the sunstrip either GIFTED or its on my STOREFRONT. Ive sent the numberbox to everyone on my friends list. Those who still dont have the numberbox please let me know.

A critical review
I consider myself a fairly good painter and since I'm doing a course that involves graphic design as well as having experience from school and feeling passionate about the design of, not only my own, but the cars in general, I feel I should give an honest and critical review of what I think of these. So this may seem slightly harsh but I did say I would be critical. Firstly the design.
My first impressions weren't great. The odd shape, which I can tell is referencing the official V8 Supercars logo, isn't working for me. The numbers are too small for the amount of space the overall logo is taking. I also don't see the point of having digital-style numbers as opposed to normal fonts provided by the game. The GT Omega Racing logo also make the number plate unbalanced as there is nothing to balance it on the right side of the numbers, although the unbalance is also caused by the shape. Another fault is also see is the placement of the number plates. I found it baffling with the TCC and I still find it baffling today. I don't know of a real-world series that has the number plates there. Are they trying to portray the numbers being on the windows but are being held back by limitations in the game? Possibly but I think it should be done properly (i.e. on the window) or not at all. I also don't see how the more traditional placement of behind the front wheel is any worse. Another criticism with the placement is that it creates problems with anyone wanting to run replica paints.
The Sunstrips are actually okay. Apart from the numbers which i've already talked about, its seem well thought out with my only criticism is that it could have the space used more effectively but right now, its stops it from being overcrowded.
But my biggest grind about these is the amount of layers used. Nearly a fifth of the layers on each side. I know TORA and their sponsors deserve a spot on each car for all the work and effort they put in to organise these races but really, at nearly 200 layers per side, I think it could have been done more efficiently.
The solution - Its a bit of an ask but I could design new number plates and sunstrips and get them out to everyone by the end of the weekend if its wanted by the organisers. I would spend tonight designing and start gifting and adding people on Friday. I'm here volunteering if you want me to do it.
*Just a reminder saying that this was meant to be critical but not overly harsh. No offence was meant to you, the reader, or anyone involved in designing the logos personally.

Re: TORA V8 - Liveries and Vinyls
^ at risk of further whizzing off my good mate Tubbi, I agree. It's what I said in my assessment but far more explanatory than I posted.
And SA42: after 30 years in the graphics biz, I wish you luck in your endeavors. It's a tough and competitive business, and when your big break comes your way, jump on the opportunity.

Re: TORA V8 - Liveries and Vinyls
just a quick question. why do we need number boxes anyway?? the V8SC IRL don't use them and you see the numbers easily, even when they're travelling at 250+ km/h.
also, sorry to be harsh, but i really don't like the whole V8SC ring part. it should have TORA V8 SC (or full V8 Supercars) and then have the nnumber box or numbers and GT Omega logo seperate.
one other question: does the window banner have to go directly above the windsheild? i have no space there as my replica has thinks there and i really would like not to change it,
thankyou and i did not mean to offend anyone

Re: TORA V8 - Liveries and Vinyls
the only thing I don't like about either is the digital font. SR has its own number font, I would like to use it.
but If I can't thats fine, im not complaining really. if its in the rules, its in teh rules

Re: TORA V8 - Liveries and Vinyls
This championship is being run by FranchittiFan and PLOW Tubbi, but they are running it as a TORA event. They are the guys to talk to about the vinyls and rules.
I will agree that I'm not a fan, but if that is what they want then I will run them as they have asked. If they feel the need to change them then I will change my paint to suit as well
Personally I liked what we ran on FM3, as I based it on the real thing. I still have these groups, however I won't be back until the second round. I wouldn't worry about GT Omega Racing being present, as they sponsor the GT series and not TORA overall.

I recognise that car, second from bottom! (I hasten to add that #14 was Chillz tapping you, not me!!!)
Re: TORA V8 - Liveries and Vinyls
I shall talk to Tubbi tonight, he did put time and effort into the vinyls.

Re: TORA V8 - Liveries and Vinyls
Yeah that's what I mean, you guys are running it and if you want it like this then that's the way it will be
Re: TORA V8 - Liveries and Vinyls
i agree, you're in charge, i just wanna race, idk that much about the vinyls, i can work round them
Re: TORA V8 - Liveries and Vinyls
The number boxes etc were done to provide uniform to the cars and with the ease of identification on the chance of a stewards inquiry.
