Good to see RAIKKONEN win. Other teams are trying to figure out how he did it on only 2 stops. We should see a lot of different winners this year just like last year.

Very enjoyable race to watch, was good to see abut of a mixture. Weird seeing Sky F1 pundits getting a number of official F1 positions, maybe it was just for Australia.
Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Great race, good to see Kimi up there again - his point scoring streak is immense! 18/19 races in a row now? Kimi said it was one of his easiest GPs he has won because of the strategy. No doubt the three stoppers were anticipating the sight of the safety car coming out, so Kimi managed to steal it from under everyone's noses.
Felt a bit sorry for Massa though, I think he could have two stopped too, but obviously Ferrari didn't want him beating FA if he could help it.
Driver of the day was Sutil for me, a year out, leading the race and mixing it with the big boys and collecting a good tally of points.

Did anyone else pick up on how well Jules Bianchi did? Looks very fast, was the only driver of the 'new' teams not to be lapped twice. I can see him in a Ferrari next season if he keeps going at this rate.

Yeah I noticed that too.. Looks like a good driver.. Nice to see somebody in those teams "standing out"
Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
YAY RAIKONNEN!!!
was hoping McLaren could have done better. I wonder if its just something they missed, or its the car altogether.
REALLY crummy that Rosberg had a failure. Was hoping he could into the top 5.
but what a drive from Sutil. for me, driver of the race.
We in Canada got the BBC feed. Good to see Coulthard is still on his game...

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Fair play to Raikkonen he definitely has the car and skill to do very well. Great start for the Ferrari's on the grid! Was a blast to watch. Vettel would want to keep an eye out for Raikkonen, "he knows what he's doing"

Made my partner watch both the F1 and parts of the 12 hours of Sebring this weekend.
Her words were "this one seems far more interesting as there seems to be cars passing each other in this one"
Any takers for which series she was on about lol..
I like F1, love it, but I am being converted by sports car racing the more I watch it..

I'm personally quite a big fan of Zytek (the original A1GP car sounded a beast!), so this is good news that F1 is attracting companies like this.

Good news LMP1 and 2014 engines can be used or are essentially the same

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
I have a feeling that before the end of the season, some of the drivers that excelled at Australia will fade a bit, while some that languished will rise.
But it was a refreshing change to see other drivers get to lead for a while.

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
I found it very interesting when Alonso said he was worried that the Lotus could 2 stop the Ferrari couldn't.
Raikkonen had all the new bits on his car from Friday but his team mate only got them on Saturday, were the track was awful, so his set up for a dry race went out the window.

from speedtv.com:
Interlagos Could Lose Brazilian GP - Castroneves: The Brazilian GP could be set to move from Interlagos. Now the popular and traditional home of Brazil's annual race, the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace is however regarded as perhaps the worst venue on the grid in terms of its aging facilities. Now, rumors of a change of venue have emerged. "In Brazil, the economic situation is very strong," IndyCar driver Helio Castroneves, whose category will race on the Sao Paulo streets in May, said last week. "I heard now that Formula One might move from Sao Paulo to the south of Brazil. Obviously it's all about how much the promoters are willing to spend. I think it's more than just interest," the Penske driver added.

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
If the reason being that money is tight, then why move the Grand Prix? Does Sau Paolo pay for the Grand Prix, or does the Brazilian Government pay?
The only other circuit really suitable for F1 would have been Jacarepaguá, which has since been demolished to make way for the Olympic Park.

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
They need to modernize Interlagos, instead of spending money on a new track.
Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Why, what's wrong with Interlagos currently? It's a fine circuit

Re: 2013 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
I meant the facilities, not the track. They need to leave the track alone and update the facilities, that's the main complaint it seems by everyone in recent years.
