Selectiverogue catches up with TORA driver Standaman94-
Gamertag – Standaman94
TORA Join Date – 14/7/2010 (Only active since January 2012)
Current TORA role - Race Steward, driver & co-team manager for Nurbracer
Current Team(s) you drive for – Nurbracer (Marc VDS in ISCC)
Current Series you have entered - GT, ISCC, TEC
Current Favourite TORA series or event – ISCC and Le Mans were probably my favourite
Favourite Car Driven During a TORA event or series – Aston Zagato from GT S8, didn't have much top speed but it certainly ruled the corners
Favourite livery on any TORA sanctioned car - I'm a sucker for replica liveries, which is why I love the Marc VDS and STR liveries we've entered this year. But I hate to blow my own trumpet, so to speak, so my favourite has to be either the M&M Vodka O livery or the Patronas Viper in the GT Championship I raced against at Suzuka. Both really suit the cars they're applied to.
Can you describe any great races you have had during the 2012 season (pick 1 or 2 moments you can recall) and describe what makes the racing great – GT Season 8 at Motegi, battling in my Zagato with CMGraphix and his teammate in their much faster Nissan GT-Rs. Made for a very close race and an even closer finish There are many other races, but I can't think of them right now, there's too many!
What sets TORA apart from other series – There's a real sense of realism here. I love the replays with commentaries, the spotter's guides, the steward inquiries, the teams, the preparation for the events... It creates this real sense of immersion, just like a real race event. Obviously minus the smells, paddocks, post and pre-race helmet banter, malfunctions, oil on your clothes, grid girls, and going to the pub for a refreshing brew (or cola..) and peanuts afterwards
Does TORA feel like you are taking place @ a real world series – Ditto
What can be done to improve TORA – Add the smells, paddocks, post and pre-race helmet banter, malfunctions, oil on your clothes, grid girls, and going to the pub for a refreshing brew (or cola..) and peanuts afterwards
Any closing comments to the community - Keep it up! The fact that so many people have put so much time into this is amazing, it shows the true dedication of the community.
