President's Christmas Message 2012
Lets's start with the big news this time. TORA is half a decade old!
There I said it. For a little over five years now the team behind The Online Racing Association have brought you online racing championships to rival any in the world. The addition of MSA recognition adds a credibility to our championships that is unmatched in the community. The fact is, all participants in TORA championships race in series that are as officially recognised as any real counterpart in the UK.
Anyone who was there at the very beginning back in 2007 will know that the original goal was simply to create a GT series based on the British GT Championship (the premier sportscar series in the UK). The fact that TORA has grown into a 1300 strong community with a wide range of championships and unique media output that pushes what is possible with console sim racing is a huge bonus and one that I, personally, am very proud to be a part of.
In the past 12 months we have ignited the spirit of endurance racing with the TORA Endurance Championship, started up new entry level series such as the Junior Touring Cars, exhibited at the EuroGamer and worked with Rogue Motorsport at Britcar. It could not have been a better year for us but I know that the best is yet to come.
The lessons learned from 2012 will go towards making the new season even better. Subtle changes to our core championships keep them fresh and relevant to their real counterparts. The Endurance Championship will expand and enjoy a full season of live coverage and every step will be taken to ensure that the racing experience at TORA is the best available.
TORA will continue to work closely with our partners, sponsors and supporters to produce an outstanding motorsport environment for the community and working even harder to further the status of virtual racing as a viable form of grass roots motorsport.
In the meantime, enjoy the winter break and work on the cars for the season ahead. I can assure everyone, spectators, team owners and drivers alike that 2013 really will be the best yet for TORA.
Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year

Happy Holidays to the amazing people that have run TORA for the past five years and to all of the competitors that have made it what it is today! (I'm not at the legal drinking age, so please keep this within the community ).
