Re: Gaming PC Help!
You've got a monitor, mouse and keyboard with the second but not the first.
Are these things you forgot and need or were you using them to fill up the £1200ish budget?

Re: Gaming PC Help!
On the first build I couldn't be arsed to put monitor and stuff so ill just assume all that is £150. So the first build would be around £1,300. Id look to try get rid of some of that stuff to bring it down to below £1200. On the second one I used a gaming pc they recommended & changed the odd thing around...

Re: Gaming PC Help!
Check out www.overclockers.co.uk and their Titan 300i Fiato PC.
Change:
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Secondary Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Primary Hard Drive: Samsung 840 Series 120GB
Graphics Card: Gigabyte HD 7950 Windforce 3X
The case is your choice but a personal favourite is the Corsair Carbide 200R because it has lots of great features, reasonably small and is understated in how it looks.
The rest of the spec includes an i5 3570K that comes already overclocked to 4.4ghz for you with a closed loop liquid cooler that requires no maintenance, a quality Corsair 600W PSU, 8GB of DDR3 1600mhz RAM and a wireless-N USB adapter.
With whatever case you choose it should come in around the £1050 mark.
BenQ 22" monitor with built in speakers, USB mouse and USB keyboard to bring you up to ~£1200
There is a similar thread on their forums HERE. Building it themselves they are saving nearly £100 and have a larger secondary HDD but you would have a better CPU cooler and Power Supply. Considering you get it built for you and a 2 year warranty, buying it pre-built seems like quite good value to me.

Re: Gaming PC Help!
The P8Z77-V LX are a very nice Mobo. Real easy BIOS as well. You could save a bit of money by getting a Corsair 600W Builder Series. Personally I think you should only go above 600 watts if you plan on overclocking or Crossfiring your 7850. Very nice build you have there.

Nooby McNoob Question:
Network Facilities
10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT - AS STANDARD ON ALL PCs
Does this mean I can connect to the router in my house alright or do I need this:

Re: Gaming PC Help!
if your planning on wireless connection, you'll probably need that as the port would be a wired connection
Re: Gaming PC Help!
Wired
Not had a wireless PC for years, but I remember it being a pain. Things have changed since then mind, and no doubt you'll need to go wireless as your folks may not want a cable running through their house. If you can get away with it then get a LAN cable run under the carpets or along the skirting from the PC to the router in your house.
PC specs sound good though, personally I would have went with nVidia for a card but that's just me

Re: Gaming PC Help!
Home plugs are a good alternative to running a long ethernet wire but I've never had any issues with wireless.

Re: Gaming PC Help!
About the PC problems are you using Chrome or Internet Explorer? Try cleaning the cache and cookies and see if that fixes the youtube freezing etc. Xbox I'm not sure what the problem is. Does it disconnect every 20 minutes or is it longer or shorter?

Re: Gaming PC Help!
Franchitti, what OS are you running? there are some things you can go through to see if we can get your computer going. But, with your computer and Xbox both having problems, it would point to your network having issues. Also, how is your computer and Xbox connected to your network; ie. wired, wireless, connected to a network switch or connected directly to your router. What type of router like 3rd party (Cisco, Dlink, Belkin...) or one from your ISP.

Im on talktalk and its been great normally very good. My PC is wired and my xbox is wireless, both go to my netgear gaming router. On my xbox everything takes longer to load up than it used too and with the 24hr race coming i really want to sort the issues out.
