Re: TORA German Touring Car Championship S1R1 Results and Points
Isn't it just the top two performers per team per week that goes towards team points?

Nope. That is what happens in GT. In this, it's all drivers combined.

Re: TORA German Touring Car Championship S1R1 Results and Points
That'll deter some teams considering the team that wins will be the team with the most people. Doesn't make much sense. Atleast average the points so the team championship has meaning.

I could divide the points by the number of drivers that drove for that team that season

Re: TORA German Touring Car Championship S1R1 Results and Points
I think an average for each race would be sufficient and will also give the drivers an up-to-date point total after each race.

I might change the way the Teams Championship is done either next season or if I get enough complaints this season.

Just make it top 2 in each team Bandit, I certainly don't mind at all and would provide more competition.

Re: TORA German Touring Car Championship S1R1 Results and Points
Much better...thank you. Another nice little addition that will soon adapt into major events...give people who miss a race last place points behind the actual last place car. Including drivers who are just now hearing about this series. People have real lives and may miss a race here or there but they will return and race if they still have a chance to place. 0 points means zero chance which means less attendance. Simple math and logic. Blaze a trail brother.

That doesn't seem very fair to the people who have made every race to get into championship contention when they have to contend with someone that was given free points. And this is not meant to be taken seriously and is here for people that want to have fun on Saturdays.

You're looking at it wrong..unfair is giving someone 0 points for going to a funeral or attending an important family function. Take a look at the major series here on the sight and you will see a gradual decline in participation as the series progress. If someone misses two or three races and given last, last place points they would have to make a serious comeback to place high and really not likely. Think about it...the smallest amount of points you can get for just showing up is last so give everyone sub last place points. If you say this is for fun then this should definitely be incorportated.

I don't want people to be taking this seriously. I want people to think that if they miss the race, then its oh well that they don't have any points and just start racing just to have fun. And it also keeps me from having to do less math at they end of each race.

Re: TORA German Touring Car Championship S1R1 Results and Points
I know I'm not doing this, but I agree with Cain on this one. If someone misses a race do to life commitments, they should receive something. I mean it's for fun right? But then you said, they miss and get 0 so they should race for fun at that point on, so then why have the points??
I'm only saying this cuz I would like see a DTM series get implented as an official TORA series, but if this series doesn't draw the interest or fails to keeps the drivers every week then I'm afraid it might not happen.

There has to be some professionalism shown which means I can not reward someone with points for not showing up. The best that I can really do is allow the drivers to hire substitute drivers to score points for them, but that's probably about it. And if TORA were to run an official DTM Championship, I'm most likely not going to run it. It will probably an official TORA member.

Yeah I know what you mean... But they staff do pay attention to what happens in the community series, and if one is getting high enough interest then there is a possibility of an official series being done. Or one similar to it

Its not a goal of mine to run a series to make it become official. I run one because I just want to run one and try to give people a good time. If this becomes official, that's great and I won't mind, but it doesn't have to happen.

I get what you're saying and it's your series. Im a serious racer who like serious races and hardcore competition in a series that all drivers take seriously. The fun is in the racing. For me its the seriousness and the pressure to win that's really fun. Just offering suggestions to pull in more people. You're lucky you got anyone to join at all. I have a series on Nurburgring with what I think to be the best setup based on all my past series experiences . I posted it and never got any interest so congrats there.Hard to find really competitive ring runners that like R3 thru X.
Keep up the good work.

The BG guys seem to be on about the same pace as you, so there's your pressure right there. You can also invite more fast people to join to get more pressure and more competition. And I do feel very thankful that Richy gave this its own slot on the forums for more exposure.
And thank you. I will do my best.
