Re: Chucky 1982
Where it all started for me was December 2007 when I found out about the British GT on the Forza website I read up about it and thought “hey why not it will give me something to do on Sunday nights” and that’s when it began, the first race was held on 24 January 2008 and was held at Silverstone International circuit, it may of only had 4 people racing but it was a start of a new era. we had: MTR Predator, TVR Fan (who finished 2nd in the drivers championship), Jenson 09 and me Chucky 1982 I was running a Ford Mustang Cobra R in this paintwork as pictured below:
I came in last place in both races the 1st being a 10 lap race and the 2nd being a 25 lap race with a mandatory pit stop. It was a good learning path for me being the first ever racing championship I’ve been in. The second race was at Mugello on 02 March 2008 (being a week apart back then) we had 7 people running in that race with the Season 1 champion Achill joining us in this race. We had more advertisement going out and the forza2 British GT website going up being paid for by culchi like it is now but was designed and maintained by me. So in this race I finished 6th in the first race and 4th in the second race so a sight improvement by me, this was my car for the Mugello race:
Onto the 3rd race of the season being held at Sebring on the 9th March 2008 we had a full lobby for this race with the introduction of Jimmy Storie in this race who finished 3rd in the drivers championship and this race had out first stewards enquiry between GR33N TORTUGA and I Chucky 1982, green slowed down on a corner I don’t slow down on so I went right into the back of him. The race ended with me finishing 5th and second race finishing 6th, the paintwork on my car for this race was this:
Now round 4 was at LAGUNA SECA on 16 march 2008 this was the first and only race of the season that I missed due to it being my daughters 2nd birthday, this was the first event to be held under 2 lobbies
Now time for Round 5 at Road America on 23 March 2008, the first confusing round of the season with 2 lobbies for the first race and 1 lobby for the final race in the first race I finished 3rd and the second race I finished 7th so once again not a bad day at the office plus I had a new paintwork on my car for this race as pictured below:
With only 4 races left of the season things started looking towards Season 2 with a lot of people thinking about there season 2 cars and a lot of interest was bought up with most with the awd cars after the outstanding performances from jimmy storie in his Lamborghini Gallardo, so with round 6 being at the Motegi Road Course on 30 March 2008 it was a two lobby race again for race 1 with me finishing in 6th then race 2 being in lobby 2 I finished in 5th out of 7, for this track same paintwork as before but with the word motegi on the sides as below:
Round 7 Sunset Peninsula Infield 6th April 2008 11 runners in this round so once again looking for a nice back of the field result today in race one I finished 5th out of 6 runners and race 2 finished 4th out of 6 runners in lobby 2, a lot of my work was now on my season 2 car what I picked to be the Audi R8 and doing the paintwork on it. But here’s the Sunset paintwork:
Nearly to the final now its round 8 at Road Atlanta on 13th April 2008, the track where I just felt the every turn I got to the final corner I just went too fast and hit the wall or far too slow just couldn’t hock it up right for this track so with my exscuses out the way my results being Race 1 5th out of 5 and race 2 4th out of 4 so double last but with testing of the season 2 car going well I didn’t mind how I was finishing, so the road Atlanta car as below:
The final race back to where it all started back to Silverstone round the Grand prix track it was all good attitudes for the final race after a very good first season of the British GT and from 4 racers in the first race of the season we ended with 11 runners we all thought it was a great season 1, so race 1 I finished 5th out of 6 runners and in race 2 I finished 3rd out of 5 runners, My paintwork on the car for this race was abit of a mix from the old and new as shown below.
In the drivers championship out of 19 runners during the whole season (some my just have run just 1 race but was still added) I finished 7th so around about middle of the championship and quite happy culchi (my team mate) and I racing for Coca Cola racers we finished in 2nd so we was both happy with that result pics below of us at Road America:
And we was looking forward to season 2 both being in Audi R8’s both cars pictured below:
Chuckys:
Culchis:
Then due to personal reasons I had to pull out before season 2, I really enjoyed my time here leading up to season 1 and during season 1 and leading up to season 2, with working on the website and being a Mod on the forum helping out as much as I could and was sad that I had to depart but am happy that I am returning even on just a racing basis and not doing anything behind the scenes.
So there you go that’s me Chucky 1982 You now know the I’m a force what you wont have to reckon with and just make up the numbers at the back of the field lol well that’s it I have bored you enough now I will part my ways from the keyboard and bid farewell until Road America.
