End of the season endurance event?

I was thinking up another race idea and I thought it would be nice to end the season off with a four hour endurance race at Le Mans. The race will be split into four stints of one hour each. Whichever team you're on at the end of the season will determine what team you will drive for for this race. That team must also stick to the same car that they have at the end of the season. If a team does not have four drivers, they can hire a non-Sprint driver to fill that spot if they want to.

Not sure if this will be successful or if the TORA staff even want to do this, but give feedback if you so desire. Remember, I haven't really thought this through.

I think the current schedule is pretty set in stone. Besides the TORA 12 Hours of Sebring and 24 of Le Mans aren't that long after the season ends.

I wasn't planning on putting this on the TEC schedule. I was planning on making it a non-points Sprint event.

Yeah I know. I'm saying the TEC stuff would be appropriate for a end of season event.

Sebring can't be end of the season since that is March 9th and the season ends March 31st. Le Mans isn't until June. So, unless they schedule the community endurance event after this season, I don't think TEC can end the season.

You could probably get enough interest just running it unofficial. I'm sure there are a lot of people that would be up for it.

I was hoping the staff would pick up on this since I'm pretty sure this should work better if more teams decide to enter and more drivers can post in so that we have multiple teams that are full.

As Texas said, we're pretty bust at the moment so we don't have the time to dedicate to this. We've done end of season Endurances and 2.4 Hours and such before, but as half the season is made up of 1hr45min Endurance races I don't see the need for this. Thanks for showing the interest though

I wouldn't run it for the simple fact that I'd be in the Mclaren and it would be crap around le mans!

Dunno Ash, the McLaren has decent top speed, it's the Lamborghinis, Vipers and maybe Astons that might struggle at Le Mans.

And I'm in the Viper and I still want to run this. And it doesn't count for points, so it shouldn't really matter what car you're using.

What about the GT4 guys in endurance that don't race in Sprint? I do race both, but I bet that somebody in GT4's wont be racing sprint series.. Is it particularly fair that they get a free choice on the best cars for Le mans when everybody else is stuck with their original choices?

think some people would be quite annoyed by that.

The guys that are running in Endurance only will join a current team in Sprint that does not have a full four car team. I would hope they would help fill up the seats for the privateer entries.
