TORA TCC Season Seven
After dipping our toes in the cool fresh water of the MSA GT Championship on a Sunday evening, a few of the MGR Guys have also decided to have a go and have signed up for Season Seven of the TCC on Tuesday evenings, commencing on the 5th March. With our home site being the VTCC, we have been blessed in the Touring Car Department, as they have a master in the match up running the site. It certainly a popular form amongst a few of the team, the short multi race programme for the night keeps the entertainment at a fast pace, or in the case of AgileAdam, a knowledge that the connection doesnt need to last as long before it drops and another Xbox Controller suffers a quick death at the hands of the front wall.
Just the one team for the series, armed with the 2010 Honda Civic we have Mr Emergency himself #999 AgileAdam coming along to challenge, he is having a rare outing in a FWD car here, entering more for the challenge and to experience TORA for some midweek action. Certainly a quick guy in the team and will be aiming high!! We have been known as a bunch of old gits at MGR, that of cause is nonsense, we have reduced our average age well below the forty mark now, alot of the reason for that has been the Youth Development Of MooGin Racing in MGR Davey, he is slightly obsessed in the Touring Car department, especially if anyone mentions the name Rob Austin. Has come a long way in a short time in the virtual world as well, gives as good as he gets and always a threat for a lobby win in these short format races. Last but certainly not least is MGR Schuey, doesnt escape MooGin Towers very often, but will certainly have fun in the lower lobbies, although to be honest, being in the FWD stuff and the recent improvements he made, especially in the Honda Civic EK9 Spec Series recently on our home site, may well spring a surprise or two along the way.
So there you have it, we look forward to seeing y'all out on track and lets hope for a good series all served in the right spirits!! We shall attempt at keeping a regular update on the series here for those interested, which may involve a few words and a couple of pictures, bargain!!
TORA TCC Season Seven :: Comments
TCC is going to be immense!! (Even though I'm not going to be in it :'( ) and it's right what Aero says, it's a brilliant write up! Always is from the MGR boys!
Thank you guys, i will admit, im not in the TCC either, im not a fan of the short race format and tend to avoid most of the series that run that sort of format, but i know this looks very popular selling out 150 spots is no easy task. Opening round for the TCC Season Seven and Hockenheim National was the selection. Just below the 100 mark for opening night and a few sights from the Lobbies involving the MooGin Racing outfit.
Top dog last night being Spartan LXVIII, qualifying for Lobby Four in the Hyundai Velostar, unfortunately the only replay available this morning from that lobby had just the one VW Bora in it and i bet you cant guess who that was!! Yeah, it was, so heres a picture i found of the Hyundai
look i have a Scottish / Yorkshire hybrid weird accent going on, zero education and its safe to say im easily confused, at least i can say the Hyundai Velociraptor. Anyhow, the Honda of SelectiveRogue from that lobby looks nice!! Spartan LXVIII ended the evening with an 8th - 3rd - 8th, gaining a good few positions in the opening two races as well.
AgileAdam its safe to say, is out of the comfort zone here, the FWD stuff being a complete mystery as like myself, trying to work out why the front wheels power and steer and the back wheels are just there, well, its a bit strange. So Adam is in education mode for this series and last night saw a Lobby Five appearance.
A fifth, a third and a second place finish saw a good clean start to the series, and a session without a lag out which is all good as Adam has to be the unluckiest man going to fall in to the lag out, never happens in practice sessions, never lags at all as we are talking a fibre optic, but come race time Adam disappears, especially if leading!!
MGR Schuey was also making his TORA debut this evening, and a Lobby Six appearance to kick off the season, a tough qualifying session with the dirty laps racking up, meant a slower banker lap was needed, but like AgileAdam, a very solid start to the campaign, with two thirds and a second place finish in the final race of the evening.
All in all, a good start to the season for the MGR camp, Nurburgring GP Short up next in a fortnight, a cracking track with a bit of everything. Leave this with a few shots from Lobby Six.

The second round of the Touring Car Championship on TORA, and a full compliment of drivers from the MGR camp, as the three Honda Civic's of AgileAdam, MGR Davey and MGR Schuey and the Hyundai of Spartan LXVIII took to the Nurburgring GP Short track. Unfortunately no replays from Lobby Three while doing the photos for this series, so no shots of AgileAdam and Spartan LXVIII, but a pretty good night for AgileAdam finishing with a fourth, third and a seventh, gaining spots in every race and 30th overall on the night, Spartan LXVIII, well a tough night for the Velostar, with a 12th, 13th and 14th place finishes, but Lobby Three is a good show and in the privateers standings, it was fourth best on the night, so a good night for the Privateer Championship points.
MGR Davey went one Lobby better, popping the MooGin Honda Civic into Lobby Two with a 20th place overall in qualifying, but the racing itself didnt exactly go the same way, and he unfortunately didnt start race three on top of two disappointing finishes. A couple of shots from Lobby Two for your pleasure.
Over in Lobby Five and MGR Schuey had a really good night, second on the grid of Lobby Five, taking a Lobby Win in the opening race of the night was the high point after an overtaking move on the opening lap and holding on for the victory.
There was some good racing in the lobby, and some cracking paints worth displaying, the baby Beemer being a popular choice as the Forza Hungary and Marc VDS racing teams demonstrated rather nicely.
MGR Schuey popped in a sixth place finish in race two, which having started on pole was as planned, it also meant a mid pack start in race three, in which MGR Schuey held the seventh spot he started at the finish. But a good points haul on the night and certainly a good evening of entertainment in Lobby Five. The winner of the third race from pole was BG Scarlett in the BG Motorsports Renault Megane, in a paint scheme that certain bright on the eye and in a strange way, one i remember well as i did it myself for a series a while back and well, you never forget the colour scheme, as its the Oregon Racing Team that ran in the Megane Eurocup and well, its a select taste shall we say!!
It is a quality effort though from the British Gamers, as was the Karcher Volvo from CyldeYellow, beautifully presented and caught my eye on more than one occasion, which takes some doing as the Volvo C30 isnt going to be winning many good looking contests along the way.
Round three in a fortnight (2nd April) and a trip to the United Kingdom and the Silverstone International Circuit. The MGR guys already working on the car for that round, on a track which will certain provide a good deal of entertainment throughout the three races.
