Hi fellow racers!
Gamertag - TweekPunx
Age - 25
Country - UK
Experience - Little bit of real life karting experience; but as for virtual racing I am in my third season of racing in the SMUTCC (Swansea Metropolitan University Touring Car Championship) where I am currently lying in 3rd place overall (4th overall in first season and 3rd in my second) and am also currently leading the SMUGT Championship.
Interests - Motorsport and punk rock!
Expectations - I'm looking to compete in the TORA GT Championship as the SMU championships are winding down and now want to challenge my skills against the very best. I need some info about racing the TORA GT championship and am looking to enter a three man team from SMU but am struggling to figure out the availability of the McLaren MP4-12C for the championship. If there is only one available then I would most likely enter as a privateer before debuting a full team for next season. It all depends on the availability of the car and am prepared to wait it out for the car to be available for the start of a season. Am pretty new to this online racing lark so please excuse any slightly 'noobish' questions, but my enthusiasm will hopefully make up for it!
How did you hear about TORA? - I heard about TORA from some the guys in the SMU and we used your rulebook to help sort out some the teething troubles with our series. You have really good thing going here and I would love to be part of it. See you on the grid (at some point!) for sure!
To whom it may concern: Deleted the space in my gamertag as I later noticed that there wasn't one.

Re: Hi fellow racers!
Welcome aboard
I was going to go to Swansea Met to study Automotive Design What's it like there?
According to the carlist, there are no open spaces at all in the GT field, apart from some in GT4 in the GT Endurance championship. I can't comment on the validity of this however, but I'm sure it's correct
If you're wanting to race in GT3, I suggest you find a team with an open seat and get in touch. Have a look in these links for teams with less than four drivers in:
http://forums.theonlineracingassociation.com/t8820-tora-msa-gt-sprint-series-entry-form-sign-ups-now-closed
http://forums.theonlineracingassociation.com/t8825-tora-msa-gt-endurance-series-entry-form
Marc VDS may have some seats for you if you're interested To be frank, we're not doing that great this season after some people have, er, failed to show... They may get the boot

No idea! My little brother went there to do his degree on Motorsport Industry Management; you'll have to ask him when he registers with TORA

Am afraid I'm not really interested in GT4, and have already agreed on two team mates to drive in our own team in the McLaren. I spoke with my proposed team mates yesterday and we figured that if there's wasn't an available slot to run the car as a team then if possible I could enter our team on my own and run as a privateer until the end of the season and then wait for a slot to be available to enter a three man team. If running as a privateer isn't an option then we're prepared to sit it out until next season rolls along so all three of us can be on the grid. They both plan to sign up in the near future so something can be worked out I'm sure.

I really appreciate the offer mate, and I could really use the experience to get a handle on how the TORA series function so I can then whip my proposed team mates into shape I can't promise that I'll be topping lobby A any time soon (have watched some of the race footage from TORA and at best I'm in the region of lobby C/D) but if something does crop up then give me a shout Although it will be a development season as far as I'm concerned and as soon as an opportunity to enter a three driver team then I'll be doing that for sure. I have been looking at the increased level of interest in TORA GT and would assume that as more people become aware and then enter series, surely the driver limit would have to be increased and then ultimately the allocation of each model of car? Please let me know if I'm wrong about that, am just a noob!
I may post some questions in this thread in the up coming days and any help that anyone would be willing to give would be very much appreciated

Re: Hi fellow racers!
I don't think there's any privateer spaces either, unfortunately. This season ends in about a month's time. I don't think it will be immediately replaced with another GT season, probably an ISCC season instead.
I don't think the driver limit will be lifted if there's enough interest. Although it theoretically makes sense, we just don't have the man power to host more lobbies Like I said, the season if coming to a close now anyway, so if interest is increasing then we'll just have to wet their appetite while the next season comes.
I know of one space on our team that can be filled, if you're interested in running that for us? My XBL is unavailable at the moment but I can send you a paint and perhaps a tune when I can.

Ah, according to the sprint series sign up sheet; all entries are now closed (although I may be wrong, let me know if I'm off the mark!) until (I'm assuming) next season. I think therefore that me and my team will probably have to wait it out until the end of the current season before there will be an opening to enter three MP4-12C GT3s. However, if something does become available with Marc VDS (which I'm guessing is the team you drive for...?) then like I said, let me know. What car does Marc VDS run in the TORA GT sprint series?

That was something my team discussed also. ISCC is an option if there's no spaces in the GT sprint series but I know even less about that series!

Surely more drivers = more man power = more lobbies? Just a thought; it just seems that the GT series is pretty slim on available spaces. But, if there is no spaces, I'm sure my team and I can wait until the next sprint series comes around, or like I said, do ISCC instead (although we were concerned about it may/may not be run on GMT time).

Much appreciated at least until there's space in the sprint series to enter my own three car team for a season. Would liek to know what car you're running though! By all means send me a paint job/tune my gamertag is: TweekPunx.

Re: Hi fellow racers!
ISCC is similar to the WEC and ALMS. Multi-class racing between LMPs and GTs with timed races running for about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
The start times for the ISCC will most likely be at 8pm GMT on Sundays. ISCC races and GT races are never run on the same sunday.

Re: Hi fellow racers!
ISCC will most likely run in the same timeslot as GT, on Sunday evenings GMT.
The more drivers = more man power = more lobbies idea makes sense, but some people can't host because of connection problems. We do have a team of hosts, AKA Race Marshals, but there's only a limited number of them available each race.
Marc VDS runs this...
A BMW Z4 GT3
(Do your research, haha )
We'll be updating to the new 2013 paintjob for ISCC https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10152621796030623.1073741825.433693060622&type=1

Ah, thanks for clearing that up Something to look into for sure. Is there a thread for it discussing rules/regulations? Can't seem to find one.

I see where you're coming from; I'm guessing only people the fastest and most reliable connections can operate the lobbies.

I did look but I think I must have read it wrong because I thought you were running a Mosler, so I thought it was worth while checking I've done a bit of running in the Z4 GT3 and by all means send me a paint job and/or tune and I'll have a bash.

Any idea when the cut off point/process for registering a team? I believe ISCC starts in April.

Re: Hi fellow racers!
I'm running the Mosler as a privateer in the Sprint series, but Marc VDS is using the Z4 in the Endurance series. The next (and last) Enduro series race is on the 31st of March, at Silverstone.Tweek Punx wrote:I did look but I think I must have read it wrong because I thought you were running a Mosler, so I thought it was worth while checking I've done a bit of running in the Z4 GT3 and by all means send me a paint job and/or tune and I'll have a bash.
ISCC is still well in the books at the moment. No details have been announced and registration hasn't opened. It'll be a few weeks before the series starts that registration opens, I reckon details will start to come about as the GT series finishes, but I'm not totally certain
Re: Hi fellow racers!
Ah ok, still trying to get my head around the entry list. Certainly give me a tune for either one or both the Z4 and the Mosler and I'll get back to you
As far as ISCC is concerned, that's fine with me. Am still competing in the SMUTCC and SMUGT championships and as they're reaching the finale it's getting pretty intense and taking up a fair bit of my time! With any luck the SMU championships will have wrapped up before either ISCC or the sprint series starts again and then I can talk with my team mates about entering either championship. Initially we thought the McLaren wasn't available for ISCC but turns out it is so that's a bonus for us .
