Unless the Vette is pegged back, which it looks like it will, it is easily the fastest GT car at Le Mans and by a good margin too.

im pretty sure it will to some extent. the BMW M3 GT2 i ran in the 2,4hr at the end of ISCC-Europe last year, i hit a 4:00.7 with it (not with the current TEC spec; only difference is stock wheels and race diff to the build i ran)

I hope not, when testing GTE for Sebring I found the Vette was a good 8tenths slower than the Ford, Porsche and the BMW, Now the Corvette has the chance to make up ground on a different track, its being punished? Really would be a shame but whatever happens, happens I guess.

The Corvette ran as completely stock last season and qualified with 4:00 laps, where Carrera posted a pole time of 3:58 in a Ford GT in very similar trim to Sebring. The Corvette will be have some PI taken off it to adjust it, but I don't see it as going completely stock. We'll be starting to test the cars further this week.

if you ask me, I'd keep the current PI, but slap a 5% on it and see how it goes.

191mph vs an avg of 183 from all the other GTE's is waaaaaay too much.

Could not disagree with statement more. The Corvette has good top speed, but is one of the worst accelerating GT cars in the game. Taking power away is unnecessary when you can just take the tires away.

Around Sebring the Vette made sense to have those tires since, again, it is a poor accelerating car which Sebring is mainly about acceleration. I can only speak for myself, but I was able to a 2:02.7 in the Vette compared to my time in the Ford before my "team" decided to go with the Ford.

I'll try and say this as politely as possible, but you guys need to stop comparing times against different people. I mean no disrespect in saying this. I just get tired of seeing this and then having the builds changed upon what different people do.

I have driven the Vette quite a lot around Le Mans, and it can do 58's stock (stock= whatever the build was last year). I believe my fastest time was a mid 58(?) in it last year, but I can't access the forums anymore where I recorded it. I do think the Ford is slightly quicker then the Vette around Le Mans, as I have done a 57's in it, but not enough to justify the stupid amount of tire on the Vette. BMW is pretty good around le mans as well.

Other cars will need to be changed as well in my opinion, but the Corvette in it current build is far to fast. It's not my series so I'm not gonna sit here and argue, but that is my experience with these cars. 3 months is more then enough time to get things figured out and adjusted.

@DarthMario - If you accept my FR I'll send you the tune as well as a replay with a 56 on it. Cheers

tbh the build should stay the same, The build was put up and had to be used for both circuits and people selected their car based on this. Changing the build on one car for one track in my eyes shouldn't be done, no matter how much faster or slower that car is around le mans.

There is nothing wrong with the corvette yes its braking isn't the greatest but its had a whole 8 pi added since us at CQR used it in the GT's season 9. It was a race winning car back then. I managed to overtake 4 other cars on the straight at nurburg purely because of its top end. if anything its going to be far too good at Le Mans in the hands of the right people. i think it can afford to loose some tire width really and still be really good. certain cars are going to awful such like the viper. Our original car choice for the GT's but when we found out its massive lack of top end we instantly had to find something else. Le mans is going to be a very hard track to balance cars for. And as far as i know nothing in the builds will change for le mans so a popular phrase for le mans for allot of teams is going to have to be....... "you can only piss with the cock you've got"

We aren't comparing times to other people, we did test all the cars and we know the difference in performance at Le Mans. I did say "see how it goes" in terms of the 5%. Again i'm not complaining or anything because I chose the car I wanted to race, not the car I felt was fastest (which I knew were the Ford and Chev).

However, knowing the massive difference in top speed relative to corner speeds isn't proportional, and this is where a lot of people WILL complain, like the AMR-One last year. A lot of people complained about it's top speed and relative handling being far better from the other prototypes, and TORA stepped in and slapped a 5% restriction based on our team's performance alone (Drake/Roadrunner/Overdrive), causing all the other AMR-One teams to go a different route, because they were considerably slower than us(I mean no disrespect, but stating facts). We tested the Acura's before the 5% was put in place on the AMR-One and found the times were the same, but chose the Aston because we thought it was more driveable than the Acura (at least Overdrive and I did). Then we saw the Acura's dominate the whole race, because they instantly became the car to beat, instead of being on par with the Aston.

I agree it's not my series or your series, but TORA's series, and it is ultimately up to them in the end what to do.

Mopar, you are a wise fella, and I respect you a ton. I'm not disagreeing with you at all, but we both know what the conversations will continue to be about for the next three months.
