GPForza GT1 World Championship
GPForza have announced their second championship, a replica series of the 2012 GT1 World Championship. The championship will be based on the real series and will follow all rules and formats as much as possible. There are a maximum of 17 spaces, with cars from nine manufacturers. The Championship will consist of 8 events, across three continents, Asia, Europe and North America.
Each race weekend will be split into three parts. The first will be a simple 20 minute qualifying session, where drivers aim to set the fastest lap time. This will decide the grid ordering for the Qualifying Race. The Qualifying Race will be a one hour race with one mandatory pitstop, within the pitstop window between 25 and 35 minutes into the race. The winner of the Qualifying race will receive 8 championship points, 7 for second, 6 for third and so on until 8th place scores a single point. The results of this race will also decide the grid positioning for the 'main event', the Championship Race. This runs with the same format as the Qualifying race, but points offered at the end are greater, and go down to 10th place. The Qualifying Session and Qualifying Race will both be held at 7pm GMT on a Friday. The Championship Race will be held at the same time on the following day.

Re: GPForza GT1 World Championship
GPForza Forums have been set up today. Now it's much easier to get the information on everything you need to know, because it's all in one place, rather than having it on seperate websites like before.
Anyway, the link is:
http://w11.zetaboards.com/GPForza/index/
Please sign up because we aim to create many different series and races so all our members have the opportunity to take part in at least one race which is to their liking.
Thank you, and we hope to see you on the forums

The idea of race on consecutive nights feels like a good idea

Re: GPForza GT1 World Championship
No start date yet, I'm waiting for a full grid (or nearly full grid) of drivers, meaning 3/4 more drivers left. However, I'm going to say the pre-season test will be somewhere in the ball-park of 29th/30th March or 5th/ 6th April.
Most races will be back to back weekends, but there may be one or two with a one week break between them. The season is 8 races long, plus the test meaning nine different weekends of racing/ testing

Re: GPForza GT1 World Championship
I would say go for April 5th or 6th since Hockenheim is March 30th.

DTM qualifying starts the 23rd. You can set up a time between that date and the March 30th.

Re: GPForza GT1 World Championship
Ok, so testing on the Friday would be possible. I'll make a decision later but I'll make sure it doesn't affect the 500k of Hockenheim

GPForza P1 World Championship
GPForza are proud to announce the launch of the new LMP series, the P1 World Championship. The series will be for some of the fastest drivers in GPForza. To become eligible to race, you need to first compete in either one of our feeder series, either the GP2 or GP3 series. The GP3 consists of Radical SR8's, each with 15% Power Restriction. The GP2 series consists of spec Chevrolet FLM09 LMPC cars. Each series will be full of fast drivers who are eager to impress P1 team bosses in order to secure their race seat in the inaugral season of the new Championship.
Also, teams will have to think strategically in order to be successful. There are seven different cars available to drive, each of which will be driven by seven teams of two drivers, making a 14 car grid. Teams have to first bid for the car they are going to race in, so that there is a fair way of seeing who has each car. Also, each driver comes with a different buy-in, based on their results in GP2 or GP3. The percentage of the maximum points they could have scored in the season is tallied up, and calculated to give their buy-in, which must be payed by the teams. Therefore in theory, the very fastest drivers will be the most expensive. Teams can buy whichever drivers or car they wish, as long as they can afford to pay the GPForza staff. If a team fails to do so they may have their car/ drivers removed from their name or even disqualified from that season.
This means teams, especially those on a smaller budget must make a decision. Do they buy one of the faster cars and have little money to spend on drivers, or do they save money with their car and have more money to be able to afford faster drivers? This type of strategy is completely unique for an online racing league, and it's why we think it'll be our best championship yet!
Of course, with this level of detail and attention to detail to try to achieve a realistic scene which all team principals and race team CEO's face on a day to day basis. Also, with the fact that the series expects some very quick drivers, this series isn't really aimed at the casual online racers. Despite this, the feeder series (GP2 and GP3) are for drivers hoping to move up the ranks, so casual drivers are welcome to attend these races. And finally, even though we really want the 14 fastest drivers, we won't turn down a driver if we think he's not quick enough. The final decision on driver line-ups is up to the teams, and, as with F1 nowadays, sometimes the faster drivers aren't chosen to race by teams because they need drivers who aren't expensive or even bring money in themselves.
We hope you are inspired to enter our very realism-driven LMP series, visit http://w11.zetaboards.com/gpforza/index our forums if you are. Thanks
