Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
What a fantastic race that turned out to be. Rosberg and Hamilton running away, 24 second lead to 3rd...cue the power loss for both cars. Thankfully..err I mean unfortunately, Lewis Hamilton couldn't continue..Shame. but well done to Ricciardo for his 1st win
Enjoyed the massive crash at thr end between Massa and Perez, just such a shame that neither of them could collect Vettel too.
Well done to Button for 4th. Shame we didn't see the overtaking he did in the closing laps.
Really enjoyed that race

I have to say I'm gutted for Massa. He could've had a good finish.

Just wow , real shame massa went out like that but overall a great race.
Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Fantastic race, was on the edge of my seat for the entire race. Great to know that Massa and Perez are ok though. Huge crashes.

Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Well that was an absolute belter. Made up that Ricciardo won it, again beating Seb (always a plus). Kudos to Rosberg for nursing that car home, though Perez did him a favour.
First thought of the Perez / Massa incident was that Massa was to blame but Perez jinks out in braking zone. Silly move that undid a fantastic effort. In my world he'd get a ban for that, Stewards need to stamp out moves like this. That and jerking movements when someone is pulling out of slipstream that launch cars into the air.

This race shows why I think Canada is one of the best circuits around. Every year it produces some epic races with rather unpredictable results.

Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
First F1 race i've watched all year since it was at a reasonable time. Glad i did. Ive liked Hamilton since the moment he came in so i was hoping for him to win it as always. But awesome race, if only more were like that and not a mercedes run away. Also, YAY CANADA.

It looked to me, like Perez pulled slightly to the left under braking. I think it's unfair to place all the blame on Massa.

I'm actually glad he didn't collect Vettel purely because if he had it could've been a very serious crash. Getting t-boned at over 100 mph...

I really do hope that Williams keep improving. They're a team that really deserve to be up there at the front.

At one point, I genuinely thought that Massa was going to take the win. It is good to see Williams up there again though.

If Perez' car was at 100%, or even 90%, at the time, I would fully agree... but one thing with brake issues is that the car sometimes makes its own move under braking. Nice thing about telemetry is it can show wheel/pedal input... meaning the FIA should be able to tell in short order within a shadow of a doubt if that jink was indeed human or mechanically induced.

I wish it was on FM5, it's one track that I would've had in the TORA GP. It's a great circuit that provides the most entertaining F1 GP's of the year..every year.

Wow, the conspiracy theorists are running wild today. Accusing the FIA of being biased against Lewis and suggesting that Mercedes sabotaged Lewis' car. Here are a few quotes from another forum which I frequent...
So much butthurt. The Hamilton Fanboys are easily the most annoying in Formula 1.
- SPOILER:
- Rsoberg almost drove into Hamilton to force him off the track, surely that's a penalty? would be for certain if Lewis did it to him...he had the racing line and Nico drove him off the track, worse drivers than Lewis wouldn't have avoided the collision either, if FIA were consistent then that would be a penalty for Rosberg, but they aren't so it won't be.Remember how everyone was bitching and moaning when Lewis essentially did the same to Nico in Bahrain and he had a hissy fit! Nico gives this whole nice guy act, but it's quite easy to see through, he's a snakeHamilton slower pit stop again (same as Spain I believe where it happened twice)If only Nico put it in the wall! [s]sad[/s]ffs Mercedes need to sort Lewis pit crew out, yet to see them do a faster stop for him than for Nico, and typically they don't here either.
Lewis would have been right on the back of him...come on man, he used it like a straight, if that's not gaining an advantage then what the **** is?
no penalty for Nico tells me the FIA have an anti-Lewis agenda...pfft, as if you would be saying that if Lewis had done it, he gave him no space at all.
Nico must be punished for cutting the chicane, he gained a HUGE advantage.Rosbergs gonna love Italy, the FIA are planning to let him cut every chicane there...no penalty for Nico...**** the FIA, **** them to hell, that's just plain out right bias, they may as well just throw out the rulebook if they let people get away with that ****No penalty , FIA are a bunch of biased *****Rosbergs a cheat. Vettels a cheat. FIA are cheats.come on Mercedes, fix it for Lewis at leastLmao, Hamilton cut the chicane and stayed ahead but wait, he let Rosberg through. I thoguht you were allowed to cut that chicance?bet you Nico's car finishes now as well, ffs.Rosberg had better DNF now or I will be mighty pissed.
at least people behind are catching the cheat.dont care who wins just hope rosberg retiresHopefully everyone will destroy Rosberg now he has engine AND brake problems so he can't go or stop well.Tbh as long as Rosberg doesn't score any/many points i'll be happyis Perez trying to help Rosberg here ffs?If Rosberg wins this race he is going to owe it largely to Perez delaying the Red Bulls and then secondly to cheating by cutting the chicane ahead of Hamilton...****ing Perez acting as a backstop for Cheato. It's just typical. Both Mercedes have issues and it's Lewis who ends up retiring. How glorious would it be if Nico just broke down on lap 69****ing cheato is going to win, there is no karma in F1 clearly.Rosberg is such a jammy ****er.C'mon Ricciardo, if you can't pass Cheato, by all means, turn into that ****erSuck it Nico!!!Gifted the win in Australia, cheated his to the win in Monaco and cheated to 2nd place today. Doesn't deserve the lead.No he doesn't... nursing a car home rather than race it home is one of the easiest tasks a F1 driver could do.

I've always wished it were on Forza, long before FM5, as it would make a great addition to ANY race series. TCC? Awesome. TASCAR? Awesome. GT? Awesome...

Sabotage? Not so much methinks...
It was brake failure. I had heard early on, according to Mercedes team radio chatter w/Nico, that Hamilton was using more rearward brake bias than Rosberg. And it seems that Hamilton spent much time in DRS, which meant more brake use would be needed at the end of the DRS zone... For Lewis to have rear brake failure, given those circumstances, on a circuit that is notoriously hard on the brakes: fully understandable.

Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Yeah whoever thinks it was sabotage is a moron. As Mikey said, running in DRS range and with more rearward bias it was frankly inevitable. Rosberg could control his issue much easier being infront. Arguably had Hamilton done him into Turn 1 he might've been the one finishing 2nd and Rosberg DNF'ing. Who knows.
Good day for F1 all in all. Will be interesting to hear FIA outcome of the last lap crash
