Even if we didn't tell you the handicaps Hayden you would still be running times comparable to that on a dry track.

I wish that was the case dude!

Handicaps? What handicaps? There's nothing in the Rules under Settings or Race that says a race can randomly have the grip settings changed, is there?

No but on the same note theres nothing saying they can't be changed. I reckon it'll make it even more interesting tbf

Why are the settings being randomly changed for the last race? A bit strange to do this at the end of a championship. It's like f1 in brasil scoring double points for the last race!

So most people have been practising for this track with no changes to the settings, and the few in "the know" can practice with the potentially changed settings, that doesn't seem very fair does it?

its a very grippy car that gonna lose some grip i've practiced with 5% to 20% grip handicap makes it more challenging, great idea to do this

Just read the "2014 TORA Spec Cup Season 1 - Rules and Regulations **Revised 02/13/14**" thread in its entirety and it doesn't state that in there at all, where did you read this?
Have a look for yourself at the calendar thread: http://forums.theonlineracingassociation.com/t12445-2014-tora-spec-cup-season-1-calendar#277598 the only statement there is this one:
"TORA staff and/or the series host (v Hurricane v) reserve the rights to change the calendar at any time." Clearly it says "...change the calendar at any time" and not ".....change the calendar or other aspect of series at any time".

The grip handicap is beautiful idea. Skyshadow he posted it amongst one of the threads that you're supposed to read before you sign up. I doesn't matter if it is in the Rules & Regs, the Calendar or the Sign Up thread. It's posted so you should read it and acknowledge it . By signing up to the series you agreed that "TORA staff and/or the series host (v Hurricane v) reserve the rights to change the calendar or other aspect of series at any time." If you don't like it don't do it, simple as.

As for the select few knowing what the handicap is then you're off your trolley. Hurricane wouldn't compromise it like that, also if people were to know I would because I help him run the lobbies, there is no advantage to be gained by anyone else It's just an idea to spice things up and I think it is a great one at that.

I thought the "weather change" was a very interesting idea. Wouldn't have minded the challenge. Maybe next time say it in the rules for no disputes, but great idea Hurricane.

It adds variety to the series which improves it. Variety is always good, the series has been great so far so why not spice it up a bit? They're doing the same for EGT by making it one hour & a half stint but you don't see people moaning about that & It's double points. You do see anybody moaning about that so why should we moan about this? It's like driving a totally different car without changing anything on it. The fact the car is handicapped now just means it is another challenge & I like that fact that we're challenging ourselves in different ways as you can learn more about the game & then use that knowledge to better your driving ability in other cars aswell.

I'm all about pushing myself as close to my limits as I possibly can & I believe there is a lot to learn from driving this car that you could apply to how you drive other cars which in turn makes you faster. At the end of the day we're all here for the competition and good racing that we have come to expect, by putting a grip handicap on the car I think we're adding to that & making the night more enjoyable for everyone that takes part.

Ok gents enough. No more talking about it. What's done is done. We will finish the series up tomorrow and then I will post the results. As far as points goes, don't expect them to be posted to quick. I have to sort out 75+ drivers and I think 25 teams for dropped rounds. I know the privateers are not really getting recognized, but I'll make sure their mentioned in the final standings separately for their hard work.

But, as of now no more talk about the rain or I will lock the thread.

I know my dropped round will be round 1 since I missed it to my knowledge. I believe it works that way. At least that's the way I did it for V8SC Rookie of the year.

Yes, your lowest scoring round will be dropped.

And that is your opinion, but the opinion of the select few shouldn't affect the opinion of a majority.
So you saying 'oh I don't like the idea of having a bit less grip' then that over rides 30 different peoples opinions?

So in TEC, if I don't like the speed the Ferrari has I can say 'look it needs more power and grip and even more acceleration so I am going to change that and you have to deal with it' and that's that?
I'm not quite sure many people would be happy with it
