New details for the new forza game, they're RENTING the tracks out that will be in the game for a couple of days to make sure the tracks are perfect but are also working with Pirelli to make sure they get the best out of the tyres

Re: Forza 4
LOL Guess they had to step up with Shift 2 should be good though
Racing is life, anything before or after is just waiting
Re: Forza 4
Getting a proper tyre model is the best thing to do to get above Shift and GT and put it into the higher realms of realism. And renting out the tracks suggests that they will be updating the tracks!
New track models and new tyre model would do it for me

Re: Forza 4
And, as I predicted, Kinect will be used to simply compliment the normal driving with head tracking and car viewing. Good move T10.

It'll pick up the angle of your head so you'd just need to keep your eyes on the screen whilst turning your head a bit. I wouldn't go checking blind spots before pulling out of the pits though

Re: Forza 4
Some new details emerge. This isn't official so it may or may not make it to Forza 4.
Source: http://uk.kotaku.com/#!5785173/kinect+enabled-forza-4-would-incorporate-head-tracking-survey-says
We've known that Forza Motorsport 4, when it releases later this year, will support Kinect as a control method. A marketing survey now hints at what some of those features might be, such as head tracking to move the game's camera, and a casual mode that allows players to steer with their hands, similar to last year's Joy Ride.
The survey, sent to Kotaku by an anonymous tipster, asked respondents' reactions to certain statements of up coming features. "By using Kinect for Xbox 360, racing fans can now use head tracking to peer into a corner or their voice to control the game menus and interface," read one. "For more casual players you can enjoy sitting or standing controller free and racing alongside your friends, simply by holding your hands at 10 and 2."
For more serious drivers, the survey claimed Forza 4 would be the "best looking game of the year with graphic fidelity 10 times better than the previous version, including new lighting and shading models." A new career mode involves "an automotive world tour," promising to "increase the variety of challenges and events you participate in." A new no-assist expert mode was also mentioned, as well as more than 500 cars from 80 different manufacturers.
Kinect would also be used to navigate a virtual showroom and learn about the features of the cars in it, with narration provided by Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson. "Each car will be like its own mini level and after your tour, you can take it out on the track."
The survey, in what appeared to sound out what people might want from a Forza 5, also asked respondents to rate their interest in an open-world Forza Motorsport game, which allows drivers to go anywhere on the open road, as opposed to closed-circuit racing.
Kotaku has contacted a Microsoft representative to ask if any of these features can be confirmed in the new game or eliminated from it. Any reply will be updated here.

Re: Forza 4
As long as they include day/night changes and weather, the entire ALMS grid plus some Pescarolos and the such, and Spa, I think I will be happy.
Or if they would just add the C6R GT2 and the 458GT to Forza 3...

Re: Forza 4
The other thing I forgot to add is that they need to get better engine sounds. Forza 3 isn't terrible, some of the DLC cars sound pretty good, but in general its not that great.
I've been playing GT5 recently though and that game has the absolute worst engine sounds I've ever heard. Every car sounds like its a 4 cylinder thats been run through a computer filter. Even the Mazda 787B, which is one of the best sounding cars ever, appears to have a Civic's power plant under the hood.
And they should let you drop an LS7 or a Ferrari V12 or whatever other engine in whatever car that they would realistically fit in.

Magic that, and it being good has about the same chance of happening as a two supermodels showing up on my doorstep with a truckload of money and asking me if I wanted to have a lifelong threesome.

Re: Forza 4
Add some more Super GT cars, all the GT2 cars from all over the world, GT3 would be a nice addition. I want to be able to choose different tire compounds when it comes to race tires. I liked how in GT4 you could pick during a pitstop what kind of compound you would like on the front and rear tires. Being able to choose how much fuel you want to add in every pit-stop. More real world tracks as well and more cars like 12-16 in a race.

Re: Forza 4
16 Player lobbies and the ability to repair ALL damage during a pit stop. That's all I ask. Anything else is a bonus.

Re: Forza 4
16 player lobbies
working headlights
night/day transition
actual night racing
different race tire compounds (like forza 2).
splash and dash fuel stops to bring in more strategy when it comes to pit stops.

Re: Forza 4
here is my brain dump on the issue of what should be in FM4 I posted on ORD:

Ok, I’ll start with a quick brain dump of stuff I’d love to see incorporated into FM4 or any other racing / driving game/s moving forward.
Dynamic weather
Night / day cycles
Much better tyre/tire smoke / dust / debris / dirt effects that are dynamic (i.e dust lingers but dissipates gradually taking into account wind / cars moving through dust clouds etc
Public lobby control given back to the masses
Tuning online
12 players upwards online per lobby
Reintroduce Forza TV so spectators can watch any races
Upload to video / Picture sharing sites from in game
Faster transfer to home computers / laptops of replays / movies / pictures
Utilise / Utilize the online racing communities requirements for league racing, making this the first game to entirely cater for online racing leagues. Guaranteed audience. The paint editor already goes a long way
Bring out new M$ Wheel for around the same cost as the old discontinued one, building into it better quality to address all the returns and faults from the old
In car damage effects
Virtual moving of seats and steering wheels for better in car driving positions (instead of % angle in multi screen trick)
Better steering wheel support….no looking around with a wheel!! you sure!! most wheel users will be in car I’d assume, so looking around is important.
Greater feel from the cars physics. I specifically find pushing beyond the limits and staying in control on FM3 is not a skill as such, more of an understanding of the games limitations in comparison to other racing games that reward pushing beyond a cars limits and remaining in control.
Punctures / blowouts
lights / wipers controlled by users
tyre / tire degradation according to tyre / tire types chosen, the track surface, temperature, driving style etc and not the same for all cars
Same as above for fuel, with the ability to chose fuel levels and maybe mixtures
Much much more but it’s a start

Re: Forza 4
I would love it if the pitstops were a litte more immersive, I want something like GT4 in terms of pitstops, where you could stick some softs of the front and hards on the rear.
I want more realistic track models with up to date layouts.
I want a better feel through the tyres, Forza 3 lacks natural understeer in the corners from the tyres, the car just not turning enough doesn't simulate how the car should feel.
Tuning on the fly in lobbies. RACE Pro style practice mode would be great, but i'm not expecting that.
New car models. The majority of car models in FM3 are recycled from FM2.
This one is probably never gonna happen, but ONLINE DRIVER CHANGES!
