TORA News - 27/4/2013
Dear TORAnthians, as you can tell from my preamble, it's going to be a long "news", here we go:
The continuing adventurs of TORA GT's sprint series...
...continues.
From what I can gather from the influx of new members, twitter followers and facebook likers, and also both of the race uploads to YouTube hitting the 100s within a week(!). Our exposure to the majority of mainland Europe and the United Kingdom seems to be positive. Also feedback from the previous coverage at Suzuka has filled certain voices of TORA with renewed confidence. But we are still far far from the end of what shouldn't really be hard work (but it is).
The Hockenhiem Races are up next, firstly Lobby E, then, as always, Lobby A for the second heat, 5:50 Uk time again for both races, this time following the NASCAR Nationwide...ers at Richmond.
With an influx of new members to the Online Racing Association, certain members have been recruited to be part of a new Community Team that will greet and guide newcomers in the right direction, in terms of getting their Forum IDs to match their xBox Gamertags, registering for their new TORA Race Number, and also how to get into new championships.
The GT Series that is being broadcast on TV actually finished a couple of months ago, and with a gap to the next mainstay series, the International Sportscar Championship, there are still several championships for you to join:
For those wanting to start afresh from "round 1" though, a couple of GT based series are on the way.
If you are keen to participate in the sort of racing that has been seen on Motors TV, then here is the first of your options, the R8 LMS car that has been seen in the GT championship, with a few subtle differences. The obvious one being the removal of the 15% power lobby handicap, the cars are also equipped with a wider set of tyres.
Races are to be held on Saturdays from the middle of May, at 10pm UK time in favour of the American timezones.
The other one make series is the Super Trofeo Lamborghini Campeonato di Duncanello Raymondo.
OK so maybe I made that last bit up, but as you may tell from the title, it involves the other GT car from the VW Group, the #08 West Yokohama Gallardo LP560-4. More info is yet to be revealed, but expect this series to run on the official TORA raceday sundays ahead of the biggest event of the TORA Calendar, the TORA 24 Hours of Le Mans, and ahead of the International Sportscar Championship.
And finally...
...new shexshy buttons...
...instead of the forumotion defaults...

- Forza Horizon owners may be interested to know that the Rally Raid series has a few rounds to go.
- The Touring Car Championship is also in it's remaining three rounds racing on Official TORA Raceday Tuesdays, as is the North American Parallel championship later that night.
- Renault Clios are in abundance on wednesdays.
- American Saturdays are home to the Silhouet racing cars from the DTM
- And on late Friday nights, Flyin Mikey J's Spec-Series, currently the Red vs. Blue tribal warfare in the form of Aussie V8s., Mikey is looking at running something to Trans-Am in the not too distant few months

I don't know if the N'wide/TORA events have been shown on MotorsTV just yet, but I will tell y'all that NASCAR race is one helluva lead in. Couldn't ask for more.
And as always a great job on letting everyone know what's going on in the wide world of TORA
