Said this in the Misc Thread:
Richy59 wrote:Pretty surprised about no night racing tbh, they aced it with FH on the current gen so was expecting it on the next gen. Weather they haven't done before, so wasn't really expecting that. Debris and dirt is pretty cool though. I have to say - and I always do when a new game/console/franchise is released - is that this is the first time they are doing something, so no doubt they are testing the water with what they have with the first game, and then improving for the sequel. I know FM has been around for 10 years, but it is a new console so I'm sure they can only improve from there.

At least its the DW12. People on iRacing are still waiting for it and they have the IZOD license!
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
Id but this game to play with the Indycars and see if TORA does keep with the Forza brand.
and we might see Mr Raikkonen playing this game for the 70's F1 cars!

Oh my word. I don't follow Indy Car at all, but that's one sexy looking machine right there, and can't wait to race/paint one now!!
McLaren "hero car" brand + open wheelers = classic McLaren F1 cars?? Can Am would be cool too.

Another reason why i'd get Project CARS over Forza, It has the Day/Night Transitions with LMP Cars and Circuits... It just seems to me that Project CARS has the upper hand at the moment,
Best of all, It's out on Xbox 360, so it won't cost an arm and a leg, and a torso..

I agree, with both of you, like Turn10 said, forza 2 wasn't as great as it could've been because it was on the new console, so i expected Forza 6 will be a lot better, hopefully...jgroves1996 wrote:Richy59 wrote:Said this in the Misc Thread:Richy59 wrote:Pretty surprised about no night racing tbh, they aced it with FH on the current gen so was expecting it on the next gen. Yep hopefully that option will be in the option to make always visible! as well seems bit daft lol.
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
That second vid is amazing!
The lighting has come on loads, note how good the grass looks on the verges. Ok so it's a small point but adds to the physicality of the game. Just, wow!

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
Well you only need to see your time when you go through a checkpoint anyway. Otherwise the numbers mean nothing unless you have something to compare them to. I see their reasoning though; It makes the game look cleaner and de-clutters the screen for casual players. No doubt that it will be optional to make it permanent (or removed), as with FM4 and the HUD

Project Gotham 5 is looking awesome. Not too sure about the re-titling though .

Regarding pCARS, I have the Alpha/Beta and have used a 360 controller, Fanatec CSR Elite and Logitech G27 and wasn't impressed at all with it. With the controller specifically it felt just like Shift 2.
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
I can't view things on FM.net, can anyone post the pics here?
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
Still uninterested. But it seems the confirmation of 3 cars seems to have restored everyones faith in T10.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
Well I'm going to save up my pennies for the XBox One, I noticed you can now pre-order the Limited Edition, first edition commemorative console directly from Microsoft for delivery the day goes on general release? I probably won't be able to get one until well into the new year though, so I hope TORA continues on the 360 for a while yet. It may end up being the have and have nots racing across different platforms I guess?
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
There seems to be a Day One Edition of FM5 as well.
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
I wonder what extras that will have? I won't be able to get the console, but I might buy the game just encase?Richy59 wrote:There seems to be a Day One Edition of FM5 as well.

Ask and I shall provide:
"An historic week for Forza fans only gets better with tonight’s announcement that open wheel cars are finally (FINALLY!) coming to the Forza Motorsport series. After teasing this news on Monday, we made it official earlier this evening by unveiling a number of the open wheel race cars that will be drivable in Forza Motorsport when it launches on Xbox One later this year. Want to know which cars you’ll be driving? Well, read on!
For the first time, “Forza Motorsport 5” will feature historic grand prix racing cars, including the 1976 McLaren M23 and the 1976 Ferrari 312-2 cars driven by Nikki Lauda and James Hunt, respectively, during the 1976 season. These models are the same cars featured in the upcoming Universal Pictures film “Rush", directed by Ron Howard, and will be available in Forza Motorsport 5 at launch. In addition, IndyCar race cars will be making their series debut in Forza Motorsport 5. The game will feature cars representing four of the top teams in the IZOD IndyCar Series: Andretti Autosport, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, Target Chip Ganassi Racing, and Team Penske.
“Including open-wheel cars in ‘Forza Motorsport 5’ brings Forza fans a whole new world of racing action,” said Alan Hartman, studio manager for Turn 10 Studios. “Players will be able to drive these incredible cars on a collection of world-famous race circuits as well as our Prague city track, which we debuted this week at E3. In addition, the brand new graphics engine in Forza Motorsport 5, powered by the Xbox One, will let Forza players get closer than ever to these amazing cars and to really build an appreciation for these masterpieces of race engineering.”
Today’s open-wheel announcement was made during the “Forza Motorsport 5” Showcase in Los Angeles as part of E3 2013, an event celebrating the upcoming release of “Forza Motorsport 5”. The exclusive showcase event featured numerous celebrity appearances, including 2013 Indianapolis 500 winner Tony Kanaan, two-time IndyCar Series Champion Scott Dixon, 2011 Firestone Indy Lights Champion Josef Newgarden, and more. In addition, showcase attendees were treated to an exclusive look at “Rush”, featuring never-before-seen footage of the film, which will make its U.S. debut on September 20, 2013.
Look for more open-wheel car announcements, as well as more news on “Forza Motorsport 5”, throughout the summer."
