Ruf is a tuning company for Porshe which make power crazy cars, they are quite different and Rufs Porshe converded selection is too limited.

Then put a VW engine conversion "upgrade" in all RUFs. Twin turbo'd Bettle powerplant would be better than whatever it is that RUF does to 911s.

I've always hated porsches and didnt miss them in FM4 and wont miss them in FM5.

I've been loving everything I've heard about Forza 5 so far except the abolition of the Storefront thus killing off the business and entrepreneurship which added another layer for so many players (myself included).

Not being able to market myself and the things I create removes a huge ammount of realism for me, I love creating awareness of my products through my Slider's Storefront Facebook page and my racing here here at TORA in branded cars, and this new abolition of the business side of Forza is going to take that away as well as alot of revenue. (who knows how much money Forza will decide you'll get whenever your paint gets used?!?)

Plus I dont like the idea of people getting something for nothing. If you want something nice either make it or earn it! (Will somebody PLEASE think of the Children! lol)

Storefront is there but it is implemented in a different way.

Not sure about the exact details, but Greenawalt says you add your designs to the "storefront", and when you buy a car it recommends paints based off your previous purchases. You then download them for free, and the creator gets the dosh.

From the sounds of it its replacing what we have now with a system that suggests designs rather than letting you search for them yourself (meaning if say you saw one of my designs you liked you couldnt go and find it and then purchase it) however it could be that its just being explained badly.

The biggest issue for me is the money side of things. By the sounds of it we dont get to set our own prices. In which case who does and how much will we get per design? Could be looking at a situation where a designer with a 5 layer desing gets paid the same as someone with a 1000 layer design where the two would have been worth different ammounts decided by the designer in FM4.

PS: On a side note I'm not seeing much Smoke yet Evil or Very Mad

Well I assume there is some sort of search system, as it needs a basis to recommend paints on anyway.

There has been some smoke in the gameplay videos where "AI" have span out a few times. Looks a lot like FM4 smoke, but a bit more realistically textured. Same sort of thickness and consistency though. Forza Horizon had some awesome burnout smoke effects (where it built up around the wheel) so hopefully we'll get some of that Wink

I have never understood the need for credits in the forza franchise beyond limiting the initial progress in the game.  After a few months of racing you will have earned enough credits to purchase any car in-game at which point the credits become meaningless. 

Anything I have ever created and bothered to place on the storefront has been put there for 0cr.


As a somewhat unrelated thought, has anyone else pondered the parallels of the in-game "digital rights" of locked vinyls and the "digital rights" that exist in the real world.

I have less than 10m Cr in FM4. It's enough to stop me buying any of the 1m+ cars I want. I charge a little for what I put on the storefront; Everyone is in the millions anyway, so 7,000 isn't going to make a blind bit of difference to anybody.

The digital rights thing is interesting in this respect. I suppose if you worked long and hard on a design, you wouldn't want someone else taking it and selling it off themselves. I suppose that's how it's viewed in the real world; developers spend years and loads of money making a game.. The last thing they want is everybody taking it for granted.

They're not going to be transferable with FM5 being on Xbox One, which itself has no backwards compatibility. Thought that was rather obvious.
