Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
i cant remember where but i read that statement yesterday and it actually said "120 new cars available"
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
120 cars, five tracks, 16 car lobby, no aero repairs...
Bathurst and Spa alone don't justify the expense of a new console and game when everything else is less than or equal to FM4.

If you think about it logically, there shouldn't be aero repairs. At least not on the road cars, everyone's thinking of Formula 1, and that's only nose cones.

Yes but if you can do an engine swap/repair in a matter of seconds a body panel shouldn't be an issue, particularly when it effectively makes the game "not fun any more".BG Hainesy wrote:If you think about it logically, there shouldn't be aero repairs. I know, they should take out engine/suspension/brakes etc repair out as well, might make people drive a bit more careful.CQR Aero wrote:Yes but if you can do an engine swap/repair in a matter of seconds a body panel shouldn't be an issue, particularly when it effectively makes the game "not fun any more".BG Hainesy wrote:If you think about it logically, there shouldn't be aero repairs. Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
^ Exactly. Repair body work for light bumps, but suspension/engine etc would take longer/not be repaired at all, making you drive much more carefully... Hopefully that would spell the end to some of the reckless behaviour a certain minority seem to demonstrate
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
NASCAR does aero repairs (usually involving duct take and patch panels) ALMS/LMES/Rolex Prototypes switch noses, tails, splitters and rear wings, Indycar switches out front and rear wings... lots of aero repairs get done in many series. Except Forza.BG Hainesy wrote:If you think about it logically, there shouldn't be aero repairs. At least not on the road cars, everyone's thinking of Formula 1, and that's only nose cones.
So, maybe not have it on production based vehicles, but by all means have aero repairs on race cars.

Forza 5 will feature lots and lots and lots of dlc I have been told
Racing is life, anything before or after is just waiting

Have you now?SelectiveRogue wrote:Forza 5 will feature lots and lots and lots of dlc I have been told
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
I don't care if it's realistic or not, but it makes the game more enjoyable if we can repair aero.
I don't mind DLC if we get at least some track dlc. I couldn't care less about the abundance of useless cars we have.

But some people like realism, I'm one of them, and unfortunately Turn 10 can't please both sides. And TORA's motto happens to be #AsRealAsItGets, so as a community we should be pushing for more realism.Kilroy8 wrote:I don't care if it's realistic or not, but it makes the game more enjoyable if we can repair aero.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
Don't get me wrong, I love realism. But Forza isn't in that genre exactly. I see Forza as being 'in the middle'. Not as hardcore as Rfactor or iRacing, but certainly not your average kiddie racer.
I play hardcore war simulator ArmA III, but sometimes its nice to go on Battlefield. Just put it in as an option.

Ideally they will give us the option to turn features like this on or off, then they can be decided on individual championships with maybe the flagship series going for the more realistic approach.
And please, the ability to separate damage and tyre wear, and make tyre wear adjustable depending on length of the race.

I heard in an interview that with simulated damage parts like suspension would be ether broken or not broken with no in between like in real lifeStandaman94 wrote:^ Exactly. Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
,,Ideally" they ONLY have 2 put it back in like it was in Forza2. Separate selectable fuel/tyre wear and damage!!. Simple as that. No big deal.BG Hainesy wrote:Ideally they will give us the option to turn features like this on or off, then they can be decided on individual championships with maybe the flagship series going for the more realistic approach.

After I already ordered it from shopto
I suppose, considering I was going to buy FIFA 14 anyway, It's not like I've lost out on anything.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
Reading over at the Forzamotorsport.net forums and it seems that a helmet designer is quite a popular request, particularly with the inclusion of open wheelers. Is this really worth the time & effort of development?
Don't bother mentioning how everything is worth more than Forza Vista. I've heard it a thousand times & it's boring.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
Well, GT5 had tons of pre-set helmets to choose from, so why not have the same thing on Forza?
Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
i'd rather have a helmet designer than Forza Vista
