In an interview with Dan Greenawalt, the GameOverCast guys were able to get an answer about painted helmets.
At around 53:58 in the podcast, Dan confirms that helmets will not be paintable...
Well that seems to put an end to that dream.

LIVING BUSY WORLDS
Racing comes alive with fans crowding the walls, helicopters circling overhead and the vibrant hum and spectacle of race day.
Should be better than the deathly silence and and empty grandstands we have in FM4. Sitting on the grid after the parade lap should build up the anticipation with helicopters overhead and crowd noise.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
hope so!
be good if the crowds were interactive!
have a crash "Ooooooooo" a pass "Cheers" win a race "louder cheers"
may be a bit much, but podium at the end too with the crowds flocking onto the track
one thing that would be cool (more in future games) would be to have podium interviews, have someone (dont care who) come out and ask some questions pre programmed and then people online answer through their headsets and can be seen on the replay

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
So a more technical version of what Codemasters have been doing with f1 for the last few years?
Nah not bothered about that at all.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
Very awesome speech written by Flugel Meister over at forzamotorsport.net forums. He should work for T10
Why do we race?
Why do we care about horsepower, torque, aerodynamics, styling, and a picturesque scene of sublime sunlit hills, scorched asphalt and the throaty roar of a V12 engine in the distance?
Our world – the real world – is littered with safety. Signs line the roads reminding us to ‘Slow Down’ or ‘Take Care’. And scattered in between are speed cameras, road humps, speed traps and paced chevrons insisting on a precise distance from the vehicle in front. Trucks and buses and caravans pack the roads, and traffic jams spoil the journey with stuttered starts and stops along ribbons of asphalt that would otherwise provide us with a reassuring rush of adrenaline through a sharp downshift, swift acceleration and the victory of an overtake.
But in Forza – our arena – our petrol-fuelled adrenaline rush, we can practice our sacred art – far from the dull-grey throb of resistance and high-visibility vests. In Forza we can overtake as fast as we can accelerate. We can downshift amid a roar of burbling, fire spitting exhausts and barely restrained leaps of explosive power; an arena where second place is the first in line for disappointment; a place where the squeal of tires are music and the only delay you experience is turbo lag: a split-second wait before your engine roars and your opponents regret their initial optimistic outlook. Forza is all of this and more.
It is a showroom of unparalleled beauty, featuring handcrafted examples in excellence by those who value perfection over practicality and the conservation of fuel; a place where the turbos outnumber the airbags; a place where power slides define a person and roundabouts excite.
Forza is our Zen. Our dojo. Our temple. Our freedom of expression.
Why do race?
Because we choose to.

Isn't that essentially a reworded version of what Jeremy Clarkson said?

Barber's a great track! It's not too far fetched an idea for it to be included, especially with Indycar featured in game.

Re: Official Forza Motorsport 5 Thread - Part 1 [locked]
It's a very impressive feat and the results worked, but the fact how many people will actually care about this stunt and will people remember it come 3 months time?
The Forza Horizon stunt worked to a point, I certainly remember the journey of supercars on their European travel to the NEC, and also the stunt they did for FM4 ( i think ) of organising a massive parade of supercars travelling through London, but this one I'm not too sure. If the film came with an announcement then it might be more worth while, but its just resulted in 3 minutes worth of me going "nice" to then move on. It would've cost ALOT to get that all set up.
