1.2 hours of LeMons
so there has been a bit of a hype of the LeMons as the community TEC race, so i'm going to be holding a mini one.
the rules are simple:
you have a MAXIMUM of 20,000 Fc to buy a car- must be 1989 or EARLIER
you then have an extra 20,000 to buy upgrades for said car
'oh but we can get free upgrades for some cars' i hear you say, well, thanks to BNB (Built Not Bought), thye have devised a spreadsheet on different prices for different parts in certain class and here they are:
F Class: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ak_C5hpPQHS8dFl0c0s4Nk9XeVdXR1lEUjVzd0lueXc#gid=0
E Class: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ak_C5hpPQHS8dENDUXM5ODhBUUtvZjF1MElYbEVuMnc#gid=0
note: as with the rules of the real LeMons, the Platform & Handling parts (besides brakes and springs) do not cost you anything as they are safety requirements.
the different classes refer to the class of the car when u bought it stock, not when you upgrade it to the next class.
NOTE: You CANNOT do ANY conversion, The highest Class wil be C Class and the Lowest will be F Class and you also cannot have any race Aero, or racing slicks, only race parts are engine, platform and handling and drivetrain upgrades.
then you sign up with your car and number.
qualifying will be done pre race like most TORA events and will consist of 10 minutes of running and 5 minutes at the end to collect times.
the race will be done under rolling start at 40 mph in single file until the last corner is approached at which point a 2x2 formation will be created with the pole sitter chosing which side they want to start on with the rest of the feild following suit.
the lead car will call 3..2..1...GO and then everyone takes off.
there will be 2 pit stops done throughout the race. the first being done in the first 20 minutes of the race, but cannot be done on the first racing lap. once the 20 minute mark has been reached, there will be a 15 minute pit lane closure before it reopens at the 35 minute mark and will go all the way until there is 10 minutes left of racing (1 hour 5 minute mark).
the lobby will be set to 1 hour 25 minutes, which will consist of 1 hour and 15 minutes of racing (including rolling start) and 10 minutes to collect times and distance.
this race is not meant to be serious, just a lot of fun (which it will be) but the 2013 TORA Sporting Regulations are still to be followed and unfair racing will be dealt with in the appropriate manor.
the cars that are availiable to use are:
F class:
1963 VW Beetle
1973 Ford Pinto
1983 GMC Vandura G-1500
1967 VW Karmann Ghia

Re: 1.2 hours of LeMons
You do realise there's a point where you get 100% discount on upgrades.

at BNB where i used to drift a bit last year, you have 25000 to start with to buy a car and upgrade it, because the upgrades are free for most manufactures for most people, they made the spread sheet, makes it so much better for things like this
Re: 1.2 hours of LeMons
This still looks very exploitable.

Re: 1.2 hours of LeMons
i know, but i'm trusting people a bit, and i left it open to allow for various builds, 20000 Fc worth of upgrades and 20000 Fc for a car isn't a lot to race

Re: 1.2 hours of LeMons
I like the idea, it'll be a good race if enough drivers want to run it. 10-16 should make a good race.
